Nobody is forgetting about her. That song is just too weak commercially for her to be a serious threat to get nominated, let alone win, and there’s already stiff competition.

The chances of her getting past Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Halsey, Lewis Capaldi, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, or even perennial nominees like P!nk or Kelly Clarkson with smaller hits are slim to none.

What are your thoughts on Boyfriend’s chances in Best Pop Duo?

I mean I know it’s not going to be a hit as it seems like it’s plummeting already (poor Scooter who said it’s coming for #1), but can’t Ariana benefit from a name check in that category since she’s being nominated in the other two?

It’s being slowly rising on AM so I doubt it’s plummeting. It’ll be another BUWYGFIB – big debut, a good 17 weeks in the top 20 and then go out in 3 or 4 weeks.

I don’t think it’s getting in over bigger hits, but it has the advantage of being a late hit a la GIAW. Plus, if they really like her this year they might name check it.

If all these social house dating rumors failed to make “Boyfriend” a big debut like TUN and 7 Rings, I doubt “Angel” will.

Funny because both Camila and Ariana tried to use dating rumors to get to #1 but both failed so far.

Nevertheless, I think “Boyfriend” is as much of a contender for Best Pop Duo/GP as “Senorita”. They will be filler nominees but either can get in.

The Boyfriend dating rumours were definitely not as exploited as whatever the fuck is going on with Camila and Shawn. Ariana said they’re not dating.

Pop Duo it’s the most competitive category this year, Boyfriend it’s only a bland 2.0 version of TUN, it’s like Bad Guy feat Bieber, not even the fans really care about it or liked that much

Shawn Mendes added If I Can’t Have You and Señorita to his self-titled, so I doubt he’ll release an album any time soon.

Pop Duo/Group is too competitive this year for her to get in off name recognition alone. “Boyfriend” needs to get bigger and very fast
