January 27, 2020 at 1:16 pm #1203314978Honestly the Grammy’s got it pretty right this year. Billie losing pop solo to Truth Hurts was good. It avoided Billie tying the female record. And gave Lizzo an extra win cause winning 2 out of 8 would have felt a little lackluster. I kinda feel that one award made the spreading of the wealth in balance. Billie deserved to dominate. Happy for Lil Nas X too.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 27, 2020 at 1:16 pm #1203314980Vampire Weekend would have been a dull choice. It’s one of their weakest albums, is sonically adventurous but never particularly unique, isn’t an album I’ve seen anyone show passion for, and frankly, only appeals to a niche crowd of hipsters.
Billie has completely shaken up pop music with a fresh new sound and her album’s impact on the musical landscape is going to be felt for years.

Why? She didn’t have the best album in the category, and she just won last year.

I do think Ariana could win a couple more Grammys eventually.

Lana didn’t get paid dust for her whole career and becoming an influential sound in many artists, especially miss Billie for you to say this.

Billie owes a lot to Lana, but her overall sound is very different.

It’s definitely not their strongest but it’s still a better record than Ms Eilish’s 🙊.

Listen, if Lana didn’t have the sound she has or the persona she has, Billie would have never thrived and blown up the way she did. Lana had to walk and endure the industry’s dislike for Billie to run.

She literally shaped alternative and influenced tons of pop artists, so put some respect on her name.January 27, 2020 at 1:48 pm #1203315057Listen, if Lana didn’t have the sound she has or the persona she has, Billie would have never thrived and blown up the way she did. The difference is that Lana was not refined either as a performer or a songwriter when she debuted to all of that backlash. She was terrible live and her lyrical content was mostly very shallow.
