Part 12 is about to fill up, so here we go.

    Notes of importance:

    – Grammy eligibility period ended early this year, August 31. Everything released after then will not be eligible until the 2021 Grammys.
    – NewCat is not voting this year so s/he will not have access to the submissions this year.
    – First-round voting does not start until September 25, so do us all a favor and don’t ask about submissions before then, because almost no one is going to have access to them. Paul Grein for Billboard usually posts a fair amount of submission information every year, and we may have other Grammy voters lurking these boards who can help out.

Can tell me what Beyonce submission is? Will he submit “Before I Let Go” and “Spirit for both ROTY or just “Spirit” for SOTY?? Does send both The Gift and Homecoming for AOTY??? Or one?

ma’am we don’t know. She can’t send both albums for Aoty, nor will she want to.  Her best shot is HC because the academy would rather die than to nominate an afrocentric album featuring African musicians…. Spirit can be submitted to both. Before I Let Go will go in record since its a cover.

Because the problem with The Gift it’s clearly the afrocentric thing, sure

Still not sold on Vampire Weekend over The 1975. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships is much better than Father of the Bride, had better reviews, and they are currently at the height of their fame. I would think the voters would want to nominate an album from a band that is considered their best (ABIIOR) rather than an album that is considered their worst (FOTB). Who knows, neither may end up in AOTY anyway.

My 8th has been shifting around a lot. Anderson .Paak, Tyler Childers, Ella Mai, Maren Morris, Twenty One Pilots, and the Jonas Brothers have occupied it at some point. I feel pretty good about Lana Del Rey, though, so this is starting to get locked in.
