I wish the Grammys would pay attention to more lesser known artists. Most of them have the best quality material than some mainstream people.

I’m thinking Weyes Blood will be this years Brandi Carlile. However there’s no guarantee that we’ll get another one this year.

A lot of people on here seem to be on the Maggie Rogers train, but I can’t see them putting three new artists in AOTY.

I would have said yes a few months ago, but Lizzo is getting bigger and bigger by the day, so if she’s eligible, she’ll be really strong competition.

I hope Gaga/Bradley submits like this:

Album of the Year: A Star Is born OST
Best Compilation Soundtrack – A Star is Born OST
Record of the Year – I’ll Never Love Again (extended version)
Song of the Year – Always Remember Us this Way
Pop Solo – I’ll Never Love Again (Extended Version)
    Pop/Duo – I Don’t Know What Love Is
American Roots Performance- Maybe it’s Time
American Roots Song – Maybe It’s Time
    Rock Performance – Black Eyes
    Rock Song – Black Eyes
Song for Visual Media – Always Remember Us This Way

I see them getting at least 4 of these.

I’m not buying the Maggie Rogers hype. Her album got mixed reviews. I don’t see her anywhere except BNA.

If “Truth Hurts” is in Rap/Sung over Pop Solo.. I think Rap/Sung will be the most competitive non GF award along with Pop Vocal Album.

    Rap/Sung Contenders:

    1. Truth Hurts – Lizzo
    2. EARFQUAKE – Tyler, the Creator f/ Playboi Carti
    3. Higher – DJ Khaled f/ Nipsey Hussle, John Legend
    4. 24/7 – Meek Mill f/ Ella Mai
    5. MOOD 4 EVER – Beyoncé f/ Jay Z & Childish Gambino

If Old Town Road is submitted here It’s a lock as well.

“Old Town Road” could be vetoed by committee like “I Like It” and “In My Feelings”.

And if this were the lineup, it really wouldn’t be that competitive. Lizzo would be way out in front with DJ Khaled/Nipsey Hussle being the only possible upset.

LOL “MOOD 4 EVA” could upset too. It’s a RAP genre category not to mention the Big name checks that are BEYONCE, JAY Z and this year’s ROTY/SOTY winner Childish Gambino.

Beyoncé/Jay-Z collaborations have lost in Rap/Sung 3 times, another one lost in R&B Performance just this year, and “Mood 4 Eva” is a song almost nobody has heard. It would be a non-factor.

I think OTR would do better with the general field panel than a genre one.
