Do we need Ed Sheeran? I figure his submissions are pretty straight forward? Same with Vampire Weekend and Solange?

Yeah I guess Ed Sheeran’s predictions are predictable (“I Don’t Care”), but he’s released quite a few other singles from this album. And I definitely would like to know what songs Solange and Vampire Weekend submitted to the GF and their respective fields.

And outside of that list, I agree that highlighting key submissions to BNA would be helpful.

Hey Beatrich, thanks so much! I think knowing the submissions for these 21 artists is most important for making predictions:

    Lizzo
    Billie Eilish
    Ariana Grande
Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper/A Star is Born
    Khalid
    Lil Nas X
    Gary Clark Jr.
    Beyoncé
    Solange
    Tyler, the Creator
    Anderson Paak
    Post Malone
    Taylor Swift
    Lana Del Rey
    Ed Sheeran
    21 Savage
    Vampire Weekend
    The 1975
    Maggie Rogers
    H.E.R.
    Panic! At the Disco

This is a great list! I’d only add Bruce Springsteen and the Pistol Annies for some country and Weyes Blood out of curiosity.

    For Your Consideration:

Best Picture: Weathering With You, Parasite, The Lighthouse
Best Supporting Actor: Willem Dafoe - The Lighthouse
Best Animated Feature: Weathering With You, Promare
Best International Film: Weathering With You, Parasite

For Solange, a lot of us are wondering if she submitted to R&B album or Urban Contemporary album… that choice will likely determine if she gets nominated or not (at least in the genre category).

Where is New Cat? I only believe in him having submissions, we had a fake voter last year, I hope this isn’t the case.

    He’s not voting this year.

This is a great list! I’d only add Bruce Springsteen and the Pistol Annies for some country and Weyes Blood out of curiosity.

I don’t think these are needed for now. They’ll submit the leads for their albums and their album to country and americana.

I agree with this list! I would love to add Mariah Carey , Chance the Rapper , and Ella Mai

I also don’t think any of these are needed. Chance won’t likely touch the GF or most rap categories, Mariah will either go with With You or A No No, and Ella Mai with Trip or Shot Clock. And none of them seem like GF contenders. I feel like we should focus on artists whose submissions could actually make a difference (Lizzo being moved to Pop, Ariana submitting 7 rings, etc).

Obvs, it depends on the voter’s time. I think it’s better if we get through those 23 first, and then move on to genre-based artists like Mariah and Bruce.

I don’t want to start World War III but deep down I still have this feeling that I wouldn’t be completely surprised if Billie’s name doesn’t show up in AOTY. I think in a lineup of 5 I would feel more confident predicting that, which is why I’m only confident in saying that I feel it very, very deep down.

I’m more comfortable with my other cracked out theory; that Thank U, Next misses album. It really seems like it’s momentum has died out, and while I think the singles are still gonna be massive contenders in the GF, I think the album being this year’s “snub” in AOTY is becoming more and more likely. I don’t think I’m confident enough to predict it missing yet, but I’m getting there.

delusional swifties grab back! women grab back!

I had the same feeling too a few months ago, Like most people including myself I expected Billie and this album to die after a few weeks of release. Obviously, that isn’t the case. Billie spent 20+ weeks in the top 5, an accomplishment 1989 and DAMN achieved. PLUS she has too much hype to not be including PLUS she has the narrative that she could potentially be “the youngest AOTY winner”. I mean, she was even predicted to be in AOTY even before the album came out…. she’s 100% in. She checks off every box past nominees and winners check off. If somehow she’s not included, its complete ageism…

For some reason I have a feeling that I Don’t Care will show up somewhere in the General Field.

The fake was obvious because they were posting things like Taylor entering a “Delicate” remix in Dance Recording.
