To those people who didn’t like Cellophane should understand the progression of FKA twigs. Cellophane marks twigs departure for minimal beats and experimentation in favor of songwriting and vocals. Her soprano voice is probably the best vocal song. The songs lyrics are extremely detailed with her wrapping her feelings up like cellophane. It’s such a beautiful song and probably in my top 3 of best songs of the year (with Gone by Charli XCX feat. Christine and the Queens and Movies by Weyes Blood).

Honey, “Cellophane” deserves a Best Music Video nomination. However, “Cellophane” is NOT happening in ROTY/SOTY.

    It deserves a BMV win!

it certainly does, but the most popular nominee always wins BMV

Bookmark this and remember it on November 20th:

Cellophane is not happening in any category, including BMV for that matter.

I don’t know what niche options they could go for, but Billie Eilish is very likely to get in and probably win.

Then you have Old Town Road, Thank U Next and You Need to Calm Down as potential nominees.

Get real! For the billionth time, “Thank U, Next” and “You Need to Calm Down” are NOT happening in Best Music Video. Bookmark that and remember it on November 20th.

    Both stand a chance actually

I want to say the same thing, but I’m struggling to name nominees without at least one of them.

Honey, Best Music Video is known to have 1-2 popular nominees and 3-4 obscure nominees. Look past popular acts and expect unpopular acts to be nominated. Remember, there is a nominations review committee.

This reminds me of 2 yeas ago when Swifties thought “Look What You Made Me Do” would get a Best Music Video nomination. BARF!

Which ones would be the popular videos? The only one I could see besides those two would be “Old Town Road”. Maybe I’m missing one that’s obvious?

I think Cellophane, Old Town Road, and This Land should get a nom, so the other two is what I’m trying to figure out. I think Earth could maybe land a nom because the animation is beautiful even though the song sucks.

    Cellophane – Fka twigs
SICKO MODE – Travis Scott f/ Drake
Old Town Road – Lil Nas X f/ Billy Ray Cyrus
When the party’s Over – Billie Eilish
    a lot – 21 Savage f/ J. Cole
You Need to Calm Down – Taylor Swift

I don’t know if Sicko Mode is eligible.. or if it was submitted. But anyways if not you can take it out and add in Taylor as alternate/substitute.
