I’m pretty sure Best Comedy Album will be televised. Dave Chappelle is attending and Ellen is sitting in the first row, so.

This discussion was a couple days ago, but I’m not convinced a straight vote would automatically include all of the Pop Vocal Album nominees. Record and Song would probably be filled with most if not all pop songs, but I think the big albums from other genres would get more votes than underperformance albums from Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran. Voters from nonpop branches are much less likely to name check big pop stars. My guess is this year a straight vote would’ve looked like this:

Billie Eilish, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
    Lizzo, Cuz I Love You
Vampire Weekend, Father of the Bride
    Ariana Grande, thank u, next
    Taylor Swift, Lover
    Gary Clark Jr., This Land
    Cage the Elephant, Social Cues
    Tyler, the Creator, Igor

Just cause Gaga missed the pop field doesn’t mean she missed the AOTY top 8. If A Star is Born had to be submitted to pop album, it would have easily gotten in there.

Gaga missed pop because as I’ve been saying all year long, the Grammy’s were not going to nominate yet another non-hit in a category she won last year with a non hit. Doesn’t mean she lacked the support. It would’ve been overkill. And people who were predicting it were quite frankly severely overestimating Gaga.

Even as a fan, I didn’t predict that.

My prediction is something like this:

Billie Eilish – When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go
Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper – A Star Is Born
Ariana Grande – Thank U Next
Lizzo – Cuz I Love You
    Taylor Swift – Lover
    Beyoncé – The Gift
Vampire Weekend – Father of the Bride
    8th spot: Ed Sheeran/Igor/Gary Clark

That would be a waste. No one cares about Dave Chappelle winning this category for a third consecutive year.

They should televise an actual music category. Comedy Album is something that should always be relegated to the pre-show.

Billie is clearly the frontrunner for AOTY. But I still have a hunch that Vampire Weekend could upset.

And I’m going with “Truth Hurts” in SOTY, but “Bad Guy” could easily snatch that one away.

Why is everyone on this forum predicting Truth Hurts to win SOTY. “Bad Guy” is a bigger hit (especially worldwide) and more acclaimed/memorable overall. Plus, Billie has way more hype and her album is way more competitive. I just don’t understand, if Billie wins BNA+AOTY, she’s definitelt beating Lizzo in SOTY. Also, Billie campaigned way more.
