Why would Gaga be dropped by pop radio? Is it an age thing?

I respectfully disagree that positions doesn’t deserve a Grammy, it’s a great album and it has the hits needed in the pop field. I can see it winning Pop Solo if Driver’s License isn’t nominated, as well as Pop Vocal Album.

Although I will say that Positions is sort of like Thank U, Next without the substance.

At this point I have Pop Solo going to Ariana/Olivia, Pop Group/Duo to the potential Tony/Gaga duet and Pop Album to Ariana.

If Ari couldn’t win for TUN she sure as hell isn’t for Positions, it’s simply not happening. I would love for her to take Pop Solo for “POV”.

A woman in her mid-30s is not played by US pop radio. As getting older, it becomes even more difficult. ROM had Ariana and got some airplay, better than Stupid Love for example. Pop Radio in USA is  like that. The same is happening to Taylor now and the same thing happened with Katy Perry.

not really a good precedent, she lost with TUN to an artist who swept, she could’ve won in many other years

Nothing on positions is worthy of a Grammy. Don’t get me wrong I love the album, it has the bops and hits but it’s just not what wins you Grammys.

If Adele, Lorde and Billie are releasing anything any time soon or if someone new comes up with something impactful it’s basically over for Ari in PVA (and of course, in everything else too), but I wouldn’t say it’s crazy to believe it could win PVA since Sweetener won in that category. It all comes down to what the nominees end up being.

Arlo Parks - Collapsed In Sunbeams
    St. Vincent - Daddy's Home

A Billie album produced by Finneas sounds like a winner to me already. Her brother is kinda unique producer.

I agree with this, Ariana won with Sweetner, then lost with Thank U, Next, even though TUN was more critically & commerically successful, it lost to WWAFAWDWG? which swept the awards show. Positions can win, but if most big releases come it won’t – it will be nominated though.

Ariana would’ve won BPVA if WWAFAWDWG weren’t nominated last year. That would be the only award though.

True. And also, as much as I agree Positions is not worthy of Grammys, let’s not forget Changes by Justin Bieber was nominated this very year. [And both him and Ariana are Scooter’s clients]

She is a lock nominee, but will most likely lose.

I don’t know why people here care so much about GF wins.

At the end of the day, the general public will be calling Beyoncé twenty-eight time grammy winner. They’re not going to dissect and call her one-time SOTY winner or whatever. Even when introducing artists, they always do so by mentioning how many grammy’s won overall.

I agree, a Grammy is a Grammy. I don’t if it’s Record of the Year or Best Spoken Word Album.

If Billie’s album isn’t going to be as big as WWAFAWDWG, then Ariana will win BPVA. I think she’s probably more liked by pop voters than Billie. But this is all assuming Adele doesn’t release.
