As of April, a case could be made for Miley. Plastic Hearts is no Bangerz in terms of impact but it’s one hell of a Pop album. Probably her best ever! And it certainly deserves a nomination.

Let’s not forget she’s a previous nominee, has kept herself visible, and is co-signed by a slew of veteran Pop/Rock acts.

Yeah, she’s obviously deserving but RCA is likely going to sabotage her.

Assuming no one else is releasing besides Olivia, Miley could edge out Demi for that 5th spot.

Ariana isn’t submitting POV to BPSP; this isn’t NTLTC vs. GIAW. Both were Top 10s and there’d been a bias toward ballads / mid-tempos in the category; maybe GIAW was a poor choice, but with NTLTC missing the GF, who knows?

Positions (single) was a #1 w/ an impressive run on BB100 (and WW) due to a weak fall/winter. It went #1 on Pop Radio, so voters will absolutely have heard it, and lastly, it’s the title track (and only true hit from a hands-off era) of her BPVA campaign.

Grammy rules are nonsensical, by the way. The fact ‘Wildest Dreams’ was unable to compete after 1989 won, but a re-recording (part of a re-recorded 1989) would be eligible is insane. Similarly, Dua Lipa has obtained the success she has by always adding new songs/remixes onto already released albums. If she’s able to add Levitating (Remix) for Chart points / certifications, it should come at the expense of its Grammy eligibility since the parent album won IMO.

This isn’t true. 34+35 was a hit. Same certification level as positions, went #2 on the hot 100, went #1 on pop radio and has 400m+ streams. The album has two hits fuelling it (and now pov is growing). Whether or not Ariana will be nominated outside Pop is debatable, but she has more going for the album than just the lead single.

Get real!  Miley Cyrus is NOT happening in Pop or any category.  Her album is a flop and completely forgotten.

    wild take:

Pop Vocal : Olivia – SOUR (this one seems more possible now, with deja vu holding good on streaming services 20 days since release, if the album is moderately successful and moderately acclaimed with big campaign set up, she can win)

Pop Solo: Ariana Grande – positions (arianas era will feel too old by voting time, but she can win in a song category, i think positions(s) has chance of winning this one)

Pop Duo: Dua Lipa ft. Dababy Levitating (this one will peak mid-May and has spent 15 weeks top10 so far on Hot100 and continues strong)

If Billie Eilish indeed releases her album in July, these will be different, but for now  prediction based on announced/released projects.

Billie and Camila both appear to be teasing music on social media.
