Also now that I think about I do think it’ll be a good idea for Olivia to submit G4U to pop solo and DL to general field.

Got off the thread for a little bit and things went crazy lol. Look, I think we can all agree that GIFs aren’t offensive and regardless of age, race, or sexual orientation you belong here just as much as anyone else. Can we stop the petty arguing and go back to predicting the Grammys?

That would be an interesting move, but I’m here for it. Both songs are great, so giving both a chance at a nod or even a win is great. Plus, I think Drivers License has more general appeal

Honey, what in the Sara Bareilles is going on!  It will NOT be a good idea for Olivia Rodrigo to submit “Good 4 U” to Best Pop Solo Performance or any category.  “Drivers License” should and will be submitted everywhere.

Also Boz, I was a lurker back then but I remember what you are talking about. I don’t think we can images of them anymore, but Natalie Nicole Gilbert has used Twitter to answer specific submissions for certain artists. So if I was like “Olivia Rodrigo?” She would post her submissions. I’m sure between us here and the other people who tweet we can use that account and get all the submissions from major contenders. I was already planning on making a master list using that account, and will gladly share it/get more information with it if asked.

I agree that Olivia should only submit DL for consideration. It has a stronger lyrical narrative & was more successful. G4U doesn’t scream Grammy worthy IMO.

I prefer good 4 u by quite a large margin (it’s my favorite on the album) but drivers license should definitely be her submission. It’s her signature song and breakthrough, even though good 4 u is smashing as well.

I would submit G4U to Pop Solo and Drivers to the GF. If you look at the past couple years, recency has played a factor with winners, so Good 4 U being fresher and a summer hit might help her out. It’s upbeat, in your face, and fresh, which does well in Pop.

Anyways, so far either song would win Pop Solo, so I don’t think it matters much what exactly she submits. I’d probably even place Déjà Vu above Positions/Montero/Therefore I Am lol.

    FYC - Lil Nas X
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) - ROTY, SOTY, Best Pop Solo Perf., Best Music Video
INDUSTRY BABY - Best Melodic Rap Perf., Best Rap Song
MONTERO - AOTY, Best Pop Vocal Album

While I don’t think she’ll get nominated, Lorde’s album is 12 tracks and will be released August 20th.

If Ariana continues to push POV and submit it to Pop Solo it could be a real threat.

“POV” would deserve to win BPSP IMO. But it needs to be a big hit first 🙁 Ari better push it!

Get real!  Even if Ariana Grande pushed “POV” in Best Pop Solo Performance, it would NOT be a real threat to win.  She’s always pure filler.  No one is getting past Olivia Rodrigo in that category.

I’ve been saying this for a while now. I can see Olivia’s team submitting G4U due to it being a smash hit closer to the deadline and DL for the GF due to its acclaim and impact.

Don’t exaggerate Olivia Rodrigo, she may get nominations and end-up empty handed, there are many questions marks when it comes to acts that are in their breakthrough year and their first round of Grammy noms.
