Love Goes unit sales was inflated by pre-release singles including Dancing With A Stranger and How Do You Sleep?

    Not so fast..

They were supposed to be there in the first place, remember it was delayed THREE times before the big change of its aesthetic & cover following being pushed to fall of 2020

Why should Sam get rid of tracks all because of the pandemic halting the era?

I don’t think you get my point here. If we look at the unit sales, Love Goes is indeed a big era, almost a guarantee nominee but the truth is its sales was driven by its 2018-2019 singles. We are entering 2022, I don’t think voters remember those songs heck DWAS missed nom when most of us pretty sure it would get in.

Hence why I said, it’s not happening, Sam only chance of nomination is the upcoming Lil Nas X collaboration which I’ve been told is happening for his debut album

Shawn Mendes flopped hard. Even that forgettable Justin Bieber collaboration couldn’t save the era.

What albums in BPVA can you see being an outside pick and a shock if nominated? I’d say: • Wonder – Shawn Mendes • Life Support – Madison Beer • Plastic Hearts – Miley Cyrus • Dancing with the Devil: The Art of Starting Over – Demi Lovato Doubt any of these will actually be nominated, but I do think all 4 were decent. It’s a shame Miley is so overlooked, PH deserves more.

Madison Beer is 100% not happening.

Shawn and Miley are long shots, but Demi could definitely surprise. Voters love a comeback story.

Can’t see Madison in BPVA tbh now I think about it, but a BNA nomination is possible.

    Demi could surprise, I agree.

I would also keep an eye out for Britney Spears/Backstreet Boys’ “Matches” to possibly surprise in Pop Duo/Group given the industry’s current focus on Britney’s legal situation.

Not the Backstreet Boys, are they still even relevant?

I mean they did get a surprise pop duo nod pretty recently.

Granted, I still don’t think Matches has any real chance. Don’t Go Breaking My Heart was a single at least, Matches is a deluxe track from a re-issue of a 2016 project. Sure, there might be some sympathy for Britney but does anyone even know this song?

    My Predictions:

    Best New Artist

    • Olivia Rodrigo
    • Arlo Parks
    • Polo G
    • The Kid LAROI
    • Gabby Barrett
    • Ava Max
    • Måneskin
    • Celeste

    No Saweetie again 😭

She probably might happen before *almost half of these to be honest.

Would Grammy voters really be that desperate to pander to the #FreeBritney movement? Nominating “Matches” feels more like a MTV/VMA stunt.

Madison Beer is only a thing on stan twitter. She won’t happen in BNA.

If Jessie Ware & Rina Sawayama, who have a lot more of industry cred, were ignored everywhere last year, Beer’s chances are nonexistent.

    FYC:

Album of the Year: "Call Me If You Get Lost" by Tyler, The Creator
Record of the Year: "WAP" by Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion
Song of the Year: "Good Days" by SZA ft. Jacob Collier
