I think they’re referring to if silk sonic has another single that is more poppy, they could submit there!

They could theoretically also submit “Leave the Door Open” to pop since it was a big pop hit, and then their next single(s) in the R&B categories.

You read my mind. I was also thinking that Bruno could submit “Leave the Door Open” to Pop and/or R&B. He is a Grammy darling so I’m sure whatever category he submits too he will be accepted.

Gaga and Bennett probably are releasing their lead single 3 August (Tony birthday) and it’ll be called Love For Sale (album title track).

“Industry Baby” is probably happening in Pop Duo/Group unless it competes in Melodic Rap (which I personally doubt it will).

Best bet is to predict Silk Sonic in R&B & Lil Nas X in Pop.

Industry Baby, Kiss Me More, Levitating, Peaches and Skate feels like a solid top 5. If Gaga and Tony do drop, ig IB is out?

Either way, a specific section of twitter is going to be hilarious on nomination day.

Does anybody know if that one rule about an artist not being able to get double nominations in one category only applies to lead credits? Or does it extend to feature credits too?

For example, could Doja Cat theoretically be nominated for Kiss Me More and 34+35 (Remix)?

it’s different for each category. if i’m not mistaken, pop duo / group performance is a category where you cannot be nominated twice no matter what.

edit: look at page 22 and 23 of https://www.grammy.com/sites/com/files/2020rulebook_1.pdf

hello friends. me and my cousin give each other 10 nominees per category for predictions (so 5 spare in genre and 2 spare in general field). who has more of a chance to make it into pop duo / group – bad bunny with dakiti or glass animals with heatwaves?

I would say Bad Bunny because he is a more established name and Dákiti was a bigger hit than Heat Waves. He’s also higher on the list.

    FYC - Lil Nas X
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) - ROTY, SOTY, Best Pop Solo Perf., Best Music Video
INDUSTRY BABY - Best Melodic Rap Perf., Best Rap Song
MONTERO - AOTY, Best Pop Vocal Album

Yeah, if Tony & Gaga release and LNX goes pop, then we have our five Duo/Group nominees: Tony/Gaga, Industry Baby, Levitating, Kiss Me More, Peaches.

Honey, “Dakiti” and/or “Heat Waves” are NOT happening in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
