With ‘Levitating’ out of the game (thank you DaBaby), Gaga and Tony has Pop Duo in their bag already and easily, no way the Academy won’t reward Tony with his last goodbye project and with the album missing the deadline, it’s the only cathegory they have to reward him next year and with Gaga having won 2 times in this cathegory in the last 2 years it will be an easy win for them.

First the song should should be nominated. Anything Goes didn’t receive a Grammy nomination.

    Competition?

    Yup. Gaga & her power!

You clearly believe Gaga is winning this, so not sure what you’re going for here.

You asked another user why they believe Gaga isn’t winning so one can only assume based on competition. Is that not a logical answer or…?

They specifically stated that voters wouldn’t want to give gaga her 3rd in 4 years, and I wanted to know what made them think that. Nothing in their original statement referenced the competition, it just referenced an apparent voter fatigue for Gaga.

Well my statement did. If you didn’t like my response then maybe you should’ve answered the rhetorical question yourself. It’s common sense either way.

pls as if a “voter fatigue” will stop Gaga and Bennett from collecting their 3rd and 2nd BPDG Grammy’s respectively. at the end of the day if the song gets a nom, its  practically locked, unless otherwise. as mentioned before its the perfect time for Gaga, she’ll literally be riding off the Gucci train (assuming press and critics reception remain good) by the time of voting and w this as Bennett’s last record as well, it’ll be the easiest name check out of all the nominees

Gaga really gets on y’alls nerves just with a jazz single. Her power.

But PLEASE, like any voter at all follow the stats of Pop/Duo Group category lol if they didnt care giving Billie ROTY back to back this wont be an issue.

Anyway, the reasons why they’re likely to be nominated and win have been stated. They could be snubbed tho. Pop categories are weird cause they can either be 5 top 10 hits or random wildcards (hence Tony’s nom in 2019).

    Totally different scenario.

There was a bigger competition of big hit songs in that cathegory that year that got nominated (‘Sky full of stars’, ‘Fancy’, ‘Say Something’, ‘Bang Bang’, ‘Dark horse’), there was no need to nominate a jazz cover that is not even between the best ones from the album, beside it made more sense rewarding the whole album like they did.

The situation is different this year, the cover is better, album is missing deadline, only possible nod for next year, this being Tony last project, lack of stronger competition.

All of this plus the fact that C2C came out during a career lowpoint for Gaga makes me sure Anything Goes missing means nothing.

2015 was a much more competitive year. All of the songs nominated for Pop Duo/Group were huge smash hits, and some of the year’s biggest hits (like “Problem” and “Rude”) didn’t make the cut.

Gaga has also won 7 Grammys since then, which was more than her total at the time (5). 6 of those were in the last 3 years.

    She and Tony are in.

(Also, not that it matters, but “Cheek to Cheek” was their submission, not “Anything Goes.”)
