Thinking about the fact that Olivia would probably still be the BPSP frontrunner no matter her submission… drivers license and good 4 u are both strong enough to win.

Coldplay album out in October, so the Pop Vocal contenders so far are:

    Safe bets
    1. Olivia Rodrigo – SOUR
    2. Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever
    3. Ariana Grande – Positions

    Strong possibilities
    4. Justin Bieber – Justice
    5. Taylor Swift – Evermore

    Dark horses
    6. Doja Cat – Planet Her
    7. Miley Cyrus – Plastic Hearts
    8. Demi Lovato – Dancing With The Devil: The Art of Starting Over

    Longshots
    9. Shawn Mendes – Wonder
    10. Lana del Rey – Chemtrails Over the Country Club
    11. Lorde – Solar Power

    Pending on release date
    -Ed Sheeran – TBA
    -Lil Nas X – Montero

    FYC - Lil Nas X
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) - ROTY, SOTY, Best Pop Solo Perf., Best Music Video

Looking at the contenders in PVA, outside Olivia/Sour it feels like such a weak year. BPSP is the same, although BPSP is competitive. Last year was a strong year for Pop domination so maybe it looks worse in comparison, but we’re nearing the end of July and the most that could threaten SOUR at this point is Billie’s album.

BPVA currently feels like such a safe predictable bet. Sour, Happier Than Ever, Positions & Justice all feel safe. Evermore will likely take the 5th spot, or potentially Ed’s album if it drops in time. Can’t see Planet Her getting into BPVA, it seems like it fits into Progressive R&B Album (at least in my opinion anyway). Same with Lil Nas X, I feel like he’s in between pop and rap but not enough to be in pop… idk? There’s also Lorde, but part of me feels like Solar Power won’t be nominated as it hasn’t really been much of a big moment as we all thought it would be.

I suppose the artists who could surprise with a drop before the end of September are Rihanna, Beyoncé, and of course Adele. However the former two would probably submit to R&B based on their most recent albums.

Justice is more of a safe bet than a strong possibility. It’s in.

Honey, Best Pop Vocal Album is too competitive for Lorde to get in.  YAY!

Evermore will MOST DEFINITELY be nominated. If Reputation, her least-“acclaimed” album got in, so will Evermore.

Pop voters don’t really care about acclaim tho

I think Evermore could miss to the Doja album, but so far I have her in.

Justice is really nice album. Definitely better than Positions and it has more longevity.

i have to assume that the Coldplay X BTS song is possibly being released soon to maybe take a spot?  It’s pretty freaking great.  The whole thing was available on twitter last night

Doja Cats Album predicted to spend 4th week top10 on BB200 with virtually same units as the previous weeks. As expected, the album will have good longevity going into voting season by end of September. Don’t count Doja out from GF or Pop (yes, also Pop Vocal).
