    Predictions:

    BPVA:
Happier Than Ever – Billie Eilish (joint frontrunner)
Sour – Olivia Rodrigo (joint frontrunner)
    Positions – Ariana Grande
    Evermore – Taylor Swift
    Justice – Justin Bieber
    MONTERO – Lil Nas X

Alternative choices: Plastic Hearts — Miley Cyrus; Wonder — Shawn Mendes; Solar Power — Lorde; Planet Her — Doja Cat(I think Planet Her could and should be submitted to Progressive R&B as she’d have much stronger chances there with less competition)

    BPSP:
Drivers Licence – Olivia Rodrigo (frontrunner)
Happier Than Ever – Billie Eilish
    Positions – Ariana Grande
    Bad Habits – Ed Sheeran
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) – Lil Nas X

Alternative choices: Anyone — Justin Bieber; All I Know So Far — P!nk; Willow — Taylor Swift

    BPDGP:
Kiss Me More – Doja Cat ft. SZA (joint frontrunner)
I Get A Kick Out Of You – Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga (joint frontrunner)
Stay – The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber
    Higher Power – Coldplay
Prisoner – Miley Cyrus ft. Dua Lipa
Beautiful Mistakes – Maroon 5 ft. Megan Thee Stallion

Alternative choices: Butter — BTS; I Still Have Faith In You — ABBA; Summer Of Love — Shawn Mendes & Tainy (I believe Peaches will end up being submitted to R&B, and I believe Levitating would have been submitted and locked if it wasn’t for the drama that happened)

  • BPSP
    • Dua Lipa – Levitating (fraud that deserves a nomination)
  • not eligible since it’s from a Grammy-winning album. Only the DaBaby version would be eligible, and that’s assuming the Recording Academy treats it as a new recording and not a remix.

Dua Lipa’s only eligible song for Pop Solo Performance is “We’re Good” or one of the other tracks from the deluxe version of her album.

Pop Vocal is the hardest category for me.

The top 2 is inarguably Billie & Olivia (we can fight about which one is higher all day), but from there the water gets murky.

While Positions and Evermore are both kinda no1curr records, both Ariana and Taylor are perennial Pop Vocal nominees.
    – Since Ariana’s real launch on the Pop scene with My Everything, every one of her eras receive at least 2 Pop nominations, including BPVA.
    – Taylor is by no means a pop darling, but every one of her albums submitted to pop have been nominated in BPVA, including reputation, which could’ve been snubbed with how the Grammys seemed to hate it (baity hit Delicate which was seen as a centimetre to win, completely missing Solo).

But then we also have Justin & Doja.
    – Justin overperformed heavily last year, but will lighting strike twice? He could get 2020 Gaga’d: made Pop her bitch in 2019 with a massive over performance, then missed solo the year after. Of course, Justice is bigger than Changes, but so was ARUTW to Joanne…
    – Planet Her is a smash on the charts, but for the non-Tik Tok’d 12-25 range is it anything more than Kiss Me More and You Right? The album is being carried by select album tracks going viral through TikTok trends (NTK, Woman, Get Into It, Ain’t Shit), but those songs aren’t crossing over outside of the internet so far (unlike other former TikTok’d songs that did like her own Say So or Savage).

TL;DR: Evermore, Happier Than Ever, Justice, Planet Her, Positions, Sour are my current top 6 for BPVA.

Oh, and Lil Nas X is giving me strong Post Malone vibes for Monterro. I have him in Pop Solo, but I’m betting on him missing BPVA. He’s my distant #7.

The way I was ridiculed on this forum for saying lil nas x is going to be the new Post Malone of the Grammys. Where were you weeks ago? Lol.

This is a really good list. But, imo, Industry Baby might go in Melodic Rap Performance since that category seems a little less stacked/competitive this

    *year* 😭😂

    Does Levitating (Live) exist?

There is the version from Studio 2054 that she could theoretically release in the next two weeks but the only commercially released thing from that show is Real Groove with Kylie Minogue.

    Oscars FYC:

    "CODA" – in all categories

"Everybody's Talking About Jamie" – Sup. Actor (Richard E. Grant), Sup. Actress (Sarah Lancashire) and Original Song (“This Was Me”)

"King Richard" – Original Song (“Be Alive”)

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

Probably a controversial take but I feel like Billie can miss Pop Solo. None of her singles seem “big enough” this year and she doesn’t strike me as someone that deserves to win a la Montero or Good 4 U. I think whatever she submits will be filler. There’s not even a clear consensus on which record she should enter in Pop.

I think Billie should put Therefore I Am in Pop and Happier Than Ever in Rock
