if nominated, im still betting on Gaga/Tony; they’ll have the strongest narrative and exposure come nomination and voting rounds (L4S being released next week with promotion carried throughout the season including 3 documentaries being released plus both will have the easiest recognition out of all the expected nominee’s w their long history in the pop field; in addition w HOG being released, if the reception is good, then it’ll probably translate to a name check for voters to check off like what happened with Joanne/ASIB 2 years ago)
YES. The important thing is that it might actually win a Grammy.
Reasons it won’t go #1 :
1) Dawn of Chromatica remix came waay to close. Even Taylor knew she had to space out her projects.
(I’m not saying the inevitable because it’s there… but there is no way that project wasn’t supposed to get released in August)
2) MET Gala promo
“Shallow” never went #1 during that period.
“Joanne” never even charted
“The Fame” never went #1
“The Fame Monster” never went #1
Hell “Bad Romance” didn’t even went #1
“Love For Sale” (album) is going to be a Lady Gaga project
**None of her most important wins never go #1. The important thing is, they promote the sh*t out of it (similarly) and move forward from it.September 26, 2021 at 5:38 pm #1204487330

Maybe Coldplay will submit My Universe to Pop Duo/Group. If that happens I wonder which one will be nominated between Butter and My Universe because an artist can’t have 2 nominated songs in this category.September 26, 2021 at 5:52 pm #1204487357

It’s hard to imagine “Butter” not being nominated because it is one of the biggest chart successful songs this year.September 26, 2021 at 6:18 pm #1204487410
I wish The Weeknd would submit. I think he could have been nominated for Pop Duo/Group at least.
If he changes his mind these could be his submissions:
Take My Breath: Pop solo, Music video
Save Your Tears (with Ariana): ROTY, SOTY, Pop duo/group
You Right: R&B performance, R&B song
Hurricane: Melodic Rap, Rap Song
I’m sure Kanye will submit Hurricane for Melodic Rap so he could get that nomination at least.September 26, 2021 at 6:24 pm #1204487419
If he would submit “Save Your Tears” in Best Pop Duo/Group Perf. there’s no way it wouldn’t win.September 26, 2021 at 6:39 pm #1204487452

Yeah, it’s the second biggest hit of the year (after Levitating) and he has the snub narrative from last year. I wonder if Ariana’s team can submit it.September 26, 2021 at 7:51 pm #1204487543

Although the song spent 10 weeks at #1 but it wasn’t that ubiquitous, its chart performance was inflated by pure sales driven by international funding. Memories and Dancing With A Stranger were bigger commercial wise yet still failed to snatch a nom.
Anyway, I just realized that Heat Waves and its parent album were released during previous eligibility period. Is the song even eligible at this point?September 26, 2021 at 9:31 pm #1204487615

I think they can but there’s no reason why Ariana would submit against The Weeknd’s wishes.September 27, 2021 at 3:24 am #1204487820
