R&B Performance – Pick Up Your Feelings
R&B Song – Pick Up Your Feelings
    R&B Album – #HEAUXTALES
Traditional R&B Performance – On It

I think she has a shot this year at winning.

Back of My Mind by H.E.R. will probably end up in Progressive R&B Album.

Back of My Mind by H.E.R. will probably end up in Progressive R&B Album.

Almost finishing the album and I agree.

With H.E.R. being the default frontrunner for Progressive, are all R&B categories locked? It seems like a Silk Sonic and H.E.R. split is likely.

    FYC - Lil Nas X
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) - ROTY, SOTY, Best Pop Solo Perf., Best Music Video
INDUSTRY BABY - Best Melodic Rap Perf., Best Rap Song
MONTERO - AOTY, Best Pop Vocal Album

I really liked the Thundercat collab in H.E.R.’s album. Hope it gets pushed for something.

FYC | Best music this season:

Arlo Parks - Collapsed In Sunbeams
    St. Vincent - Daddy's Home
    Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales
Tyler, The Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost
    Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend

Honey, Jazmine Sullivan will submit “Girl Like Me” (or something else) to Best R&B Performance and “Pick Up Your Feelings” to Best Traditional R&B Performance.

She shouldn’t submit Girl Like Me because of H.E.R fatigue. She would be doing herself a disservice since H.E.R will likely get in with her own work.

Get real!  H.E.R. will NOT compete in Best Progressive R&B Album.

Have you even listened to the album to make that claim? This album can definitely be a placed in Progressive with the amount of rappers and non-traditional R&B artists on it.

BOMM is definitely progressive, and it’d be dumb for H.E.R. to not submit there considering Silk Sonic will likely win R&B Album.

Honey, Jazmine Sullivan will submit “Girl Like Me” (or something else) to Best R&B Performance and “Pick Up Your Feelings” to Best Traditional R&B Performance.

R&B Performance only allows one song per artist I think, so if H.E.R. gets more votes than Girl Like Me with Damage, then Jazmine would not get the nom.

The smart thing to do is submit Pick Up Your Feelings to R&B Performance. That’s the biggest hit, and it could beat Damage more easily than Leave the Door Open in Traditional.

Do you think Planet Her will be nominated in Best Progressive R&B Album? Doja has mentioned in interviews that it’s a lot more rap than her previous albums, but I don’t see it being nominated in the rap category itself since she’s so unique and not genre-specific. But I wouldn’t put her in Pop either. Best Progressive R&B Album would make the most sense, right?

“Girl Like Me” will likely be sent to R&B Song. Jazmine & H.E.R. are known as prolific songwriters within the genre. There’s no way they omit it from submissions. Also, PUYF is totally Traditional.

I think she’s still going Pop.

Honey, I do NOT know what users are smoking.  “Pick Up Your Feelings” is traditional.

H.E.R. straddles the line between proper R&B & Progressive. Back of My Mind could go either way. But her label would be smart to submit to the latter. The inclusion of Urban/Rap features & strong Hip-Hop elements arguably make it less Traditional than her previous work. If Contemporary R&B Album still existed, BOMM would’ve been a perfect fit.

I’m curious to see what Dominique Deveraux’s two cents are on whether Back Of My Mind should go to R&B Album or Progressive R&B Album.
