I would love to see Summer Walker score a nom. She was robbed by the panel last year!

I can see all of that happening except for Tinashe.

I really hope Jazmine Sullivan submits “Girl Like Me” featuring H.E.R. to R&B Performance and then it gets more votes than any of H.E.R.’s submissions (“Come Through” or “Damage” likely) and scores the nom instead (since an artist can only be nominated for one submission in R&B Performance… based on what received the most votes).

Tinashe might benefit from a panel-less voting system. If not, she’s never going to receive a nomination ever. Sad because her music is really good and fits the Progressive R&B category perfectly.

Traditional R&B Performance is so STACKED. I would be happy with any winner. Jazmine deserves to win but my personal favorite is “You Made A Fool Of Me” & “PUYF”.

    On It seems traditional too.

Heaux Tales have a great chance of winning R&B Album. I think it’s her time finally.

Even if it doesn’t happen this year, I hope she can sneak in eventually (but who knows, panels could come back and ruin her chances)

I have to say I really can see “Wild Side” sneaking into Best R&B Song. It’s still pretty stable and I see it rising in radio every day. Especially if a second single from her comes around voting time, it could push it.I see it as this years “Do It”

The fact that Sevyn Streeter, H.E.R, Joyce Wrice etc. are all in R&B album tells me that the screening panel was extra strict this year.

We’re really getting some indie/Alternative R&B contenders for Progressive R&B. At this rate wouldnt be shocked to see Arlo parks get in if moved here.

Yeah, I’m waiting to see where Arlo Parks and Cleo Sol are placed. Also Robert Glasper. This is gonna be an interesting line-up for sure.

Normani receiving a nomination before an album debut would be indicative of the support she’s garnered within industry circles. However, I’m not holding my breath just yet. “Wild Side” is a good song but it didn’t meet the expectations some placed prior to the release. Also, Normani has been snubbed before with much bigger hits. I’ll always root for her but I wouldn’t be surprised if she & Cardi miss.

Her snubs in the past were probably circumstantial. For instance love lies was submitted to R&B instead of pop. When the song went #1 on pop radio, so submitting it to R&B made no sense. And dancing with a Stranger was likely due to the fact that the Grammys didn’t care to nominate Sam Smith(a voter actually told someone I know this). As for motivation it was fairly new, and was submitted to pop solo during a highly competitive year.

The difference with Wild Side is that it’s likely being submitted to the right category, With the right collaborator(Cardi B), And is one of the biggest R&B songs eligible.

    Grammys FYC:

Normani ft Cardi B - Wild Side (ROTY, Best Music Video, R&B Song/Performance)

Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales(R&B Album)
