I have a feeling Justin Bieber will be nominated in this field with “Peaches”. Either in Best R&B Performance or Song. Probably not both unless voters are completely won over by its cross genre appeal and success. Without a committee the possibility is strong. It would’ve had an easier path to potential victory in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in my opinion. But it is what it is. Hopefully this won’t effect Giveon’s “Heartbreak Anniversary” chances. That’s one of my favorite songs of 2021. He totally deserves nominations. I also think it’s unfair to judge those (like myself) who predicted “Peaches” in Pop. It’s no different than when some of us assumed H.E.R.’s Back of My Mind would go to Best Progressive R&B Album or “Leave the Door Open” in Best Traditional R&B Performance. No one is ever 100% correct when predicting awards especially the Grammys. They’re always unpredictable. I always feel bad when people are shamed for that. Speaking of the Progressive category who is winning that now? That seems like a totally wide open race. Best R&B Album is going to be a bloodbath.

Wish I had confirmation about Giveon and “Heartbreak Anniversary” being eligible.

We pretty much do, Wanda’s voter had confirmed he submitted to both R&B categories and his FYC only listed Heartbreak Anniversary

I think heartbreak anniversary and good days bloody deserve nominations in either SOTY or ROTY, or both. But I’m surprised they put Normani in R&B and not pop, better chances but still

Exactly. Not only is Alicia happening, she is winning Progressive R&B.

How many instances have we had where an album winner only receives one nomination in their respective genre? She’s getting at least two.

Jam and Lewis seem to be pushing the Mariah song for FYCs

I can see the R&B Category having some sort of wealth being spread

Hopefully R&B Voters resonated with Jazmine more than HER this time around. She literally has the better album and acclaim to back it up. I believe campaigning could benefit her.

I also find it funny when people judge other people who thought Peaches would be submitted to popduo. At first I always thought that Peaches would be submitted to r&b because it’s common sense for everyone that Bieber wants to compete in r&b categories, and he finally did a job that sounded r&b. After all, popduo would always be the comfort zone for Peaches’ submission.

I’m getting depressed about the possibility of Good Days being snubbed, plus R&B would be a good appearance on SOTY.

I think Jazmine will lock in any category she submits in the r&b field.

Could Dinner Party win Best Progressive R&B Album?

NVM it was released before the eligibility period. I know NOTHING about r&b lol
