2019: Mary J. BligeFor 2021 I am hoping for Stevie Wonder, Stephanie Mills, TLC, Mariah Carey, The Jacksons, those are my options. I felt like Mary could have waited 🥴
ReplyCopy URLJune 6, 2021 at 6:39 am #1204288105I’m tuning in to root for Nas
He’s been on an incredible streak since last year with King’s Disease and has KILLED all of his feature verses this year. He finally got his first Grammy and hopefully the BET Awards will follow suit.
Also for Lifetime Achievement the fact that Stevie Wonder is CRIMINAL

I mean the fact that he’s openly queer and continues to have massive commercial success is really opening the gate for the LGBT community in the music industry.

Lil Nas X has potential for icon status. That’s bae.
ReplyCopy URLJune 28, 2021 at 6:34 pm #1204322185Bro, why these fucking BET and Soul Train awards keep awarding Chris Brown? They are fuckin proud of him beating women and making the same shitty music. There is no excuse when they got better alternatives. By the way, Weeknd is snubbed again, even by his own people.
BET is known to not to award artist that lean more towards pop music, so it’s not surprising that The Weeknd didn’t win. Especially when he only had one single released to urban radio from after hours. Rihanna has been the most successful female artist almost every time she was nominated but only won twice. Bruno didn’t win until he released the 24k album. Even with artist like CeeLo Green and Khalid when they had the most success during their nomination, it went to the person that had the biggest urban hit.
ReplyCopy URLJune 29, 2021 at 11:50 am #1204322917To be fair, The Weeknd should’ve won but BET does have a bias against pure Pop artists/music. Abel lost his Urban audience this era.
