I hope something really weird happens and we get four different artists of different races and genders winning in the general field. Just imagine.

Two Hands, Big Thief -- "Shoulders"
Punisher, Phoebe Bridgers -- "Garden Song"
    SAWAYAMA, Rina Sawayama -- "Snakeskin"
The Highwomen, The Highwomen -- "Highwomen"
The Slow Rush, Tame Impala -- "Breathe Deeper"
Fetch The Bolt Cutters, Fiona Apple -- "For Her"

Why does it always have to be about a black artist? Why can’t a Latino win? Bad Bunny’s album would be a worthy winner this year. Bunny is undoubtedly one of the biggest musicians in the world. And his record is Urbano. Rosalia had amazing Beautiful album last year that could have been crowned. You didn’t see us Latinos crying when Despasito lost record of the year. Shakira’s Sale El Sol was an incredible album that should have received general field love. I just don’t understand why it’s always oh but this rap album should have won or this r&b album was better. Urban acts have faired way better than Latinos. And you don’t see us throwing a fit or crying every year.

Latinos have a whole Grammy award ceremony dedicated to them. Shut up this post is so tone deaf.

all flawless albums. Absolutely no skips. Too bad they are being overshadowed by TikTok favorites Hollywood’s Bleeding, Roddy Roach and the filler filled snooze fest After Hours. An absolute MESS!!!

    Roddy Roach??? Excuse Me??!!

Bad Bunny deserves an AOTY nom.

Imagine a Latino artist winning in the biggest music night of the year, on an American TV network watched by millions globally, without being an Hispanic-only thing? a dream.

Honey, no this is so wrong on so many levels. The fact that Latinos are subjugated towards that is embarrassing. The Grammys should be for everyone, regardless of having an appeal.

    FYC:
AOTY: Fetch the Bolt Cutters or After Hours
ROTY & SOTY: Blinding Lights & Don’t Start Now
BNA: Megan Thee Stallion or Rina Sawayama
    Rap Album: RTJ4
    Country Album: Gaslighter
    Americana Album: Reunions
    Pop Album: SAWAYAMA
    Rock Album: The New Abnormal
    R&B Performance: Do It

Love you Deemy, but the whole “Latin Grammys Post” was like “Black Artist have the BET Awards, they don’t deserve to win any Grammys in the pop, rap, r&b or country awards”

AOTY: Fetch the Bolt Cutters or After Hours
ROTY & SOTY: Blinding Lights & Don’t Start Now

    Rap Album: RTJ4
    Country Album: Gaslighter
    Americana Album: Reunions
    Pop Album: SAWAYAMA
    Rock Album: The New Abnormal
    R&B Performance: Do It

Bad Bunny definitely deserves an Album of the Year nomination. And yes, outside of Santana, Latin artists have regularly been omitted from the General Field in favor of English speaking acts.

However, we can’t pit oppressions against each other. It doesn’t move the conversation of racial bias forward.

The Recording Academy needs to realize “bland, safe, & boring” doesn’t always equate to quality music. There are so many Rap, R&B, & Latin artists who deserve recognition outside of their respective fields.

I don’t think subjugated was the word you were looking for…

Two Hands, Big Thief -- "Shoulders"

Latinos make up 18.7% of US Demographic. If you are able to come out with 18.7% of the music industry that does well critically or commercially, then we can talk about “subjugated”.

They should have given Rosalia an AOTY nomination over Lil Nas X last year. If they wanted to throw Lil Nas X an extra bone, it would have made more sense to do it in SOTY, not AOTY for that nothingness EP.

There’s clearly some pushback from Latin artists, unless they cross over majorly.

Get real!  Rosalía did NOT deserve an Album of the Year nomination.  Lil Nas X totally deserved his Album of the Year nomination.

I doubt that Blinding Lights is the Pop version of Old Town Road due to undeniable radio airplay. People are still over obsessed with this song.

I mean Blinding Lights is still charting on Apple Music and Spotify (currently number 4), but yeah it’s going to be hard to beat in the general field.
