BTS are never getting nominated, and that goes for all K-pop for that matter. It’s way too niche.

Keep your eyes on Doja Cat. Say so is top 10 on Spotify US and second most added at pop radio.

She’s gonna blow up by summer

TBH i think most critics just gave them positive reviews because they want to avoid their awful fans, although they are “critically acclaimed”, I don’t see them doing well in critic year-end lists, and their success/hype won’t last until August

Pitchfork gave them a 63 (still considered a positive review) and predictably there were a lot of angry messages replying to the pitchfork twitter account.

It is way too early to call her a lock. For all we know, she could be another Megan Thee Stallion.

I never thought Megan would get nominated! Her only song that was popular had two other artists on it and Doja makes more pop influenced music so that helps her!

Her homophobic comments will re-emerge if the song becomes a hit.

    My name is NOT Susan.

she just performed in The Tonight’s Show, i feel like she is the only new artist who is really blowing up during this season, so we should keep an eye on her

DOJA CAT should be a surefire lock for BEST NEW ARTIST. Her album “Hot Pink” has smashes from start to end. Cyber Sex, Talk Dirty, Say So, Rules and Juicy. The issue she’ll have is where she’ll submit these singles.

    I am hoping for :

Album of the Year – Hot Pink
Record of the Year – Say So
Song of the Year – Say So
    Best New Artist – herself
    Pop Solo – Say So
    R&B Performance – Juicy
    R&B Song – Cyber Sex
    Rap/Sung Performance – Rules
    Rap Song – Rules
Urban Contemporary Album – Hot Pink
    Music Video – Juicy

i don’t think Lewis and Mega are possible anymore

Summew Walker can be a candidate but she was also submitted last year and snubbed, she has made bigger in the meantime tho

and Tones is a candidate too but i fear she might be seen as a OHW

Lewis should still be eligible through the Ed Sheeran loophole, since he’s only been nominated as a songwriter and hasn’t won. If he has another good year, he could be in the running.

The only thing I’m unsure about with Megan is if she’s released too much material and/or if what she releases this year will push her over the limit.

Summer Walker could pull an Alessia Cara and get in this time.

That’s why I asked the question… because I wasn’t even aware of these people
