Get real!  Kanye West did NOT prevent Beyoncé from winning Album of the Year.  I am… Sasha Fierce is horrible.  Lemonade lost to a mega-seller.  Beyoncé should’ve easily won.  The reality is… Beyoncé will never win Album of the Year due to the color of her skin.

The Grammys think they can give Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, and other people of color a shitload of R&B and Rap Grammys and that will make-up for lack of general field wins.  The racism is real!

Hoping Beyoncé releases a Lemonade-level album this year, I really want her to get at least one AOTY.

At this point both Beyoncé and Kendrick will very likely never win AOTY. Kendrick lost with DAMN even if that one was more commercial and friendly. And Beyoncé’s best bet was Lemonade.

Honey, Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar (and all the other shaded African-Americans) better NOT ever attend the Grammy Awards again.

Kendrick and Bey don’t even attend the Grammys anymore. Both of them lost 3 times in a single decade, no matter how acclaimed or successful they were. At this point they probably stopped giving a fuck

I think Beyoncé doesn’t even care how commercial her album can be.

Beyonce cares WAY more than Kendrick does. Artists like Gaga, Taylor, Kanye, & Beyonce want validation from the industry for being the best.

If she’s ever nominated for Album of the Year again, best believe she’s showing up.

Home girl literally campaigned everywhere to win for Lemonade. MTV, BET, even the Country Music Awards.

In fact, there’s usually one huge popstar that everyone claims to be a locked snubbed, especially in SOTY and AOTY.

    so Dua Lipa then lol

Beyonce is above the Grammys. She only came last time to support Jay

Could be, but it’s usually someone with less critical backing. Everyone seems to have the critics on their side, but I think 2x winner Dua Lipa is probably making music more up the Grammy’s taste than Post Malone. But I wouldn’t be shocked if either missed.

Also it’s usually the person with a huge album (Divide, 20/20 Experience). Dua’s album will be lucky if it ends up at the top 10 of the YE list.

Honey, get real! 99% of the white general field winners in the last ten years did NOT deserve to win.

    </p>
    I’d say 99.9%

Again there is nothing wrong with thinking that they don’t deserve it, but someone’s skin colour does not mean that they have talent or not. There are just as many talented white artists as there are non-white artists.

Did anyone see this? The racism jumped out

It’s funny how if someone typed the exact same comment that Toni said but replaced the word “white” with “black”, then people would hate them and accuse them of racism.

What kind of racist nonsense is this? You should be ashamed of yourself. In which situation would you replace the word “white” with “black”? Huh. For all the artistry black artists have had, invented, popularized; they have been paid dust. And for what? For white artists to bite their styles and ‘borrow’ their influences in style, accent, way of life, dressing e.t.c and be praised for being ‘different’ and ‘ground-breaking’.

So again, where can ‘black’ and ‘white’ be interchangeabli? The white artists almost always take the awards. For crying out loud . Since Lauryn Hill, black artists have won 9 times in Album, Song and Record of the year. That is a 14% win rate. And then we have artists like Ariana now ‘sounding’ black. All for you to expose your racist ass here? Who bans people on here coz Im tryna report this.

Lemonade and To Pimp a Butterfly definitely deserved it that year. Doesn’t mean that the non-white artists of that year lacked talent or deserved to be in contention.

Was the question ever about talent or contention? Best believe if you are nominared for the grammys you have to be talented.

You can’t be racist towards white people. Racism involves systematical oppression, which is definitely not the case for y’all Caucasian folks. It is well known at this point that the Grammy’s as an institution favors white genres and white music. It is not “racist” to say that the majority of white winners were undeserved, cuz a big part of why they won was their skin color, and it’s a popular opinion that most of those wins were in fact undeserved. The clear bias towards black music, especially hip-hop (which is a mostly black genre, so don’t come with the “Eminem gets snubbed too!” argument), says a lot about the institution. It is to the point where one hip-hop album can sell and be considered the best album of our generation, and the Grammy’s rather reward a white popstar. You can not tell me with a straight face that To Pimp A Butterfly isn’t a better album than 1989 – that’s not even an opinion at this point. So yes, black artists, specially those in predominantly-black genres, have to try extra-harder and are often snubbed in favor of mediocre music by white artists. And that’s on institutional racism.

Reposting this for the racist asses that need re-education

So basically you’re saying that white people Can win and black people can’t? Bey, Kendrick, Lizzo, RIRI DESERVED TO WIN ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

Rihanna never deserved AOTY and was never close to winning

Wish childish would have given his project a name, cover, and track titles. Right now he feels like a non-factor
