Where did you guys find the rule about not being able to compete in Pop Duo/Group multiple times as a lead?

I see Taylor getting in every category in pop except pop vocal. I hope they let her compete in folk or alternative.

The Weeknd is not submitting After Hours to Pop Vocal, he’ll submit to Urban Contemporary/Progressive R&B as he usually does.

Fine Line is currently the frontrunner for BPVA so i’d replace it with that

folklore is now the front runner to win BPVA not fine line at all.

Folklore has only been out for 2 days, you have no idea how it’ll hold up commercially and if it will have any sort of longevity. For all you know, it could be front-loaded as hell. Fine Line has proven to have good stability on the charts, great commercial success, good critical acclaim and 2 hit singles, one of which is a post-album hit single which is a respectable thing to have in the streaming era. Fine Line is still the frontrunner for now.

fine line is definitely not the frontrunner for BPVA. but i’m not saying he can’t win, it’s really open rn

    Pop Vocal:

    – Fine Line
    – Future Nostalgia
    – Folklore
    – Hollywood’s Bleeding
    – Romance

    Pop Solo:

    – Cardigan
    – Don’t Start Now
    – Everything I Wanted
    – Blinding Lights
    – Watermelon Sugar
(Possible Filler: Lose You To Love Me if it receives a big enough campaign)

    Pop Duo:

    – Rain On Me
    – My Oh My
    – Exile
    – Savage Love
    – Intentions

I still believe until submissions close, I’ll be changing my predictions a lot but here are my thoughts.

Chromatica is not missing a nomination to Romance. Also I don’t see Savage Love getting in since Jason Derulo has never been nominated and that song is basically a TikTok novelty hit. I’d replace it with Memories, death bed, Sunday Best or that Xtina/AGreatBigWorld collab if I were you. Good predix for a newbie.

Fine Line is definitely in contention for being a frontrunner for BPVA. It’s had very impressive longevity, two #1s on pop radio, two top 10 hits, the third biggest opening of last year, solid critical reception etc. When the category is most likely locked in as Taylor, Dua, Post, Gaga and Harry, it’s possible Dua and Gaga could cancel each other out by appealing to the same demographic amongst voters. I can’t see Post winning even if the category wasn’t as strong this year, since they have never rewarded him with anything despite all of the previous success he’s had.

Pop Solo: – Cardigan – Don’t Start Now – Everything I Wanted – Blinding Lights – Watermelon Sugar (Possible Filler: Lose You To Love Me if it receives a big enough campaign)

I’m not sure if Taylor will submit Cardigan to Pop, or if it’ll even be nominated if she does. There are bigger hits (Say So, Circles etc) that could take that spot instead. Exile for Pop Duo seems like a safer bet since the category is pretty weak this year and could be for the taking if she campaigns enough. ‘My Future’ could replace Billie’s EIW if it’s well-received.

Taylor will be nominated across the board.

Norah might pull of a surprise.

Gaga might be shut out outside of Duo.

I’m not too sure about Taylor getting in Pop Solo. Cardigan needs a decent chart run at least something similar to YNTCD.

Also Gaga is not missing Pop Duo/GP. Name recognition aside, Rain has had a decent chart run, predicted to spend its 9th week in the top 15. That’s good by Gaga’s standards. I think it’s the frontrunner but Exile is also a threat.
