My predictions so far after some internal deliberation, (no particular order)

    After Hours
    Fetch the Bolt Cutters
    Folklore
a country album, either highwomen or chicks
    Hollywood’s Bleeding
    Rough and Rowdy Ways
    a surprise, wildcard album

Everyone is talking about The Weeknd sweeping (which will probably happen) but i just dont see his dominance, i only see it with blinding lights. None of the albums that could be nominated really had that big of an “era” i think it could be anyone’s game.

FYC: future nostalgia, Sawayama, Hollywood’s bleeding

Call me crazy, but I think “Future Nostalgia” would show up in Album Of The Year, before “Fine Line”.

    Current Predictions:

    1. The Weeknd – “After Hours”
    2. Taylor Swift – “folklore”
    3. Fiona Apple – “Fetch The Bolt Cutters”
    4. Dua Lipa – “Future Nostalgia”
    5. Roddy Ricch – “Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial”
    6. Brittany Howard – “Jaime”
    7. The Highwomen – “The Highwomen”
    8. Harry Styles – “Fine Line”

The Rest Of The Top 20:

    9. The Chicks – “Gaslighter”
    10. Chloe x Halle – “Ungodly Hour”
    11. Run The Jewels – “RTJ4”
    12. Post Malone – “Hollywood’s Bleeding”
    13. Lady Gaga – “Chromatica”
    14. Megan Thee Stallion – “Suga”
    15. Childish Gambino – “3.15.20”
    16. Tame Impala – “The Slow Rush”
    17. FKA Twings – “Magadelene”
    18. Bob Dylan – “Rough & Rowdy Ways”*
    19. Luke Combs – “What You See Is What You Get”
    20. Jhene Aiko – Chilombo

*Bob Dylan could be higher or lower, I think.

This is true, there is no clear dominance, but The Weeknd is the most discussed for this.

I do kind of agree with this. The Weeknd has not felt very big at all this year outside of Blinding Lights. After Hours wasn’t really a big “moment”. That said he’s easily frontrunner for 3 categories (R/SOTY and BPSP), and AOTY if folklore is blocked. I think BPVA is a toss up between the two of them.

So you think Fiona, Brittany, Tame Impala, and Twigs are four alternative nominees. Who do you think is the fifth to round out the genre?

Fiona will be the number 1 artist they will push although it is very likely she makes top 8 to begin with.

I don’t think there will be a complete sweep in the general field after last year.

I actually think Dua is the one being overestimated on the odds. No clue how Future Nostalgia is runner-up.

Also Bob Dylan is not happening anywhere in the GF. Chloe x Halle predictions in the GF kinda seem like wishful thinking too. People point out the fact that they’re campaigning loads, but I don’t think that’s enough to get an AOTY nom.

I don’t see Folklore in the pics, I would switch Future Nostalgia with Folklore, but I agree with the rest.
