Correct me if I am reading into this wrong, but I feel if Folklore and Chromatica were debut albums you guys would praise them a lot more. Your issue isn’t with the work it’s that you think the artists are capable of more. Am I wrong?

Folklore no, Chromatica yes. Folklore is basically her best album and it was a whole new style kinda, it has elements of country. Chromatica was more of a return to form. The other thing is Gaga killed it with a star is born and many people wanted her to make music like that (I mean Joanne is kinda already like that but anyways). I think if Gaga waited one more Album cycle and didn’t release it at the worst time possible it would have done better. It just had bad timing, not the greatest longevity and compared to her last era was considered less. The best case scenario is for it to become a Reputation era. Considered a kinda success but still not great but as time goes on is more beloved

But yes I do think Gaga is capable of much more, but still wasn’t really into Chromatica anyways. It would have showed great promise for an artist

I like Forklore and have grown to semi like Chromatica. I, um, don’t mind Future Nostalgia. The bitch-er-y and endless shade does taint a lot of these big, stan Twitter artists though.

Did anyone post Vulture predictions yet? I hate when they don’t list the albuns, so I’m just copying and paste the first paragraph.

About half of these slots will go to albums that just feel too big to fail. There’s the Weeknd’s After Hours, a synth-pop odyssey that spawned one of the year’s biggest hits. There’s Lady Gaga’s Chromatica, her return to form that the Grammys have loved her for, from The Fame through Born This Way. There’s Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia, a sophomore effort that makes good on the academy’s vote of confidence when it handed her Best New Artist in 2019. And there’s Taylor Swift’s folklore, the most acclaimed album in years from an artist who was once a shoo-in for the general categories. If she was ever going to decisively reclaim that distinction, now’s the time. As the only first-time nominee of the bunch, Lipa could miss the cut — but at the same time, a previous nomination in the category isn’t a guaranteed ticket back, something Post Malone could learn this year with more competition than the 2019 field, when he was last nominated for AOTY. Still, consider Hollywood’s Bleeding the most likely pop record to sneak in, with larger barriers for Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial (pinning its hopes on one hit), Chloe x Halle’s Ungodly Hour (almost every other likely nominee charted in the top ten), and Harry Styles’s Fine Line (it’d be one of his first-ever nominations).

Get real! The #BLM Movement is NOT one of the reasons After Hours is considered a lock in Album of the Year. You white people are something else.

I remember you admitting The Weeknd doesn’t deserve it. In your words, “The thought of The Weeknd winning AOTY before Kendrick Lamar, BARF!!”

Justin… I mean he will be the first person to tie Record and song and be the only person to win it twice as a tie because of smash hits Intentions and Yummy! Too bad his album won’t win because TattleTales came to play. Taylor will be forced to deal with a pity nomination in the brand new category Best Acceptance Speech intro with her fabulous turning around last night. Maybe she’ll get in next year with her future and unreleased hit Carnal Desire
