The general consensus was that Billie would win. Gold Derby as well. Same seems to be happening for folklore.

Lana or VW deserved. Billie’s album was a mess. She’s a very green songwriter who is incapable of writing interesting lyrics.

Her new song with the Descartes-lifted chorus shows promise. She was anointed way too soon.

Billies album was a unique in regards to production. I think its big success and the mystery around Billie gave it an edge over the others. I think her second album will be in the same vein.

We’ll see, she’s gonna need to change things up to get the same acclaim and accolades.

    Nylon reacts to the nominations:

Excerpt to all the Fiona sad fans:

“We’ll say it again and louder for those in the back: Fiona Apple deserved to sweep the “Big Three” — Record, Song, and Album of the Year — with Fetch The Bolt Cutters. Yes, the record and its song “Shameika” are nominated for awards in the rock and alternative category, including Best Alternative Album, but Apple’s fifth album is a masterpiece that merited consideration beyond genre. Not only was Fetch a raw and explosive document of art that simultaneously reinvigorated and rewrote the confines of its medium…”.

Business insider also said that it should’ve won AOTY.

I think it’s pretty credible to say Fiona was left out to give Taylor the easy win. Apple would’ve been her only serious competition.

Hmmm. I do think that Fiona being there would’ve muddied the water for folklore. But I think it ultimately would’ve made it easier for Future Nostalgia.

In all seriousness,  probably Jacob, Taylor and Dua.
