I also don’t think we’ll know how the pop vote will split. Taylor and Dua all made all three. We can’t gauge pop support from a ROTY nomination from the committee.

    FYC:

Taylor Swift- AOTY, SOTY, Pop Duo/Group Performance, Pop Vocal Album

Phoebe Bridgers- BNA, Rock Song, Rock Performance, Alternative Album

Dua Lipa- ROTY, Pop Solo Performance

Chloe x Halle- Traditional R&B Performance, R&B Song, Progressive R&B Album

Pop and other genres means reggae, world music, Latin etc. not the genres previously mentioned. I’d assume those voting blocks are smaller since we rarely get a Latin album in album of the year or a reggae song or artist in song or record.

I’d assume the biggest block is Pop, bigger than country

I guess you didn’t read my initial post. I said POP is the biggest genre bloc. I added “and other genres” because they seem to be insignificant when it comes to voting.

True but Dua had like 2/3 Pop Radio number ones this year. Taylor- None

Dua Lipa announced her livestream had 5 million viewers on Friday.

She should make parts of it available for everyone (Physical, DSN) on YouTube when the voting round begins

nope I wasn’t referring to “and other genres” at all, just to Pop.

jic your “most likely to win” list was a result of mere percentages just like the tweet that was cited

My end-of-November predictions for the GF and pop field (the two fields I personally follow the closest):

    AOTY
    Future Nostalgia
    Alt: folklore

    ROTY
    Don’t Start Now
Alt. Savage/Everything I Wanted (can’t really decide here)

    SOTY
    Don’t Start Now
    Alt. Everything I Wanted

    Pop Vocal Album
    Future Nostalgia
    Alt: folklore

    Pop Solo Performance
    Don’t Start Now
    Alt. Everything I Wanted

    Pop Duo/Group Performance
    Rain On Me
    Alt. exile

I don’t think HB,FN, or Folklore could take AOTY- the votes will be too split

However, I don’t think HB will attract that many pop voters only because it had no genre support

Honey, Jhené Aiko, Black Pumas, Jacob Collier, HAIM, and Post Malone have no chance of winning Album of the Year.

It’s between Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and Taylor Swift.  Swift wins (BARF!).  Watch out for Coldplay.  They are the veterans in this pathetic line-up.

Coldplay are most certainly not the dark horse to win this. Jacob Collier is likelier than them.

Get real!  Jacob Collier is NOT more likely to win Album of the Year over Coldplay.  That Jacob dude is way too obscure.
