I think so too, and it would be deserved. However, there is a possibility that cardigan was blocked in record of the year in order to avoid another general field sweep. DSN might not be as big of a lock in Song as it is in Record.

There hasn’t been a split since 2016. I don’t count Bruno Mars because that’s just another form of the Academy’s laziness. Some of these sweeps were deserved though.
