After loooong analysis and lengthy debates, I have finally come to the secured, definitive, final conclusion that Taylor Swift is going to win AOTY

Is there at least a small possibility Taylor does indeed lose AOTY to something random? Imagine if she does lose AOTY. This board would be off the chain! Stranger things have happened, especially in 2020-21.

    Random like who? Jacob Collier?

Well, so let’s wait for March 14. Do not put your expectations so high! Swift is not winning AOTY again. I’m here in this forum for a while and every year people overhype her.

    “every year people overhype her”.

This is so not true lmao. I’ve been reading goldderby forums every year since 2017 and this is literally the first time she’s been pegged as the frontrunner to win any of her categories. in 2018 – sweetener had the slight edge over reputation and was predicted the most. last year, billie was the undeniable frontrunner for her categories with lizzo closely behind. even this year a lot of people were split on whether or not she would even get nominated for aoty bc of the three wins possibility.

This is the first time since 1989 where taylor has managed to get nominated across all three pop categories. plus with soty + aoty noms and her first album to have UNIVERSAL acclaim it makes sense that she is the frontrunner this year. i’d actually even go on to say folklore is one of the strongest frontrunners we’ve had for aoty in the past decade or so especially because of how weak the other nominees are in comparison.

HOWEVER, this doesn’t mean she’s guaranteed a win. The Grammys are not easy to predict and she isn’t by any means a 100% lock to win. She is just the frontrunner as every year has one.

False. Before noms came out everyone and their mother swore Delicate was a huge lock for Pop Solo Performance and Reputation for Pop Vocal Album.

Swifties do overhype Taylor a lot here. Doesn’t mean she isn’t winning this year though cuz she probably is.

This is good to know, thank you!

So far I’m really confident that Dua, Jhené, Taylor and Megan will perform. Wouldn’t be surprised if Jacob H.E.R and Billie also get a slot.

Honey, Taylor Swift winning Album of the Year again would be so problematic.

I don’t think anyone cares besides you and other clowns here on gold derby. The general public doesn’t give a damn about the Grammys and it shows with their declining viewership. If Tay wins there will be a lot of love and celebration for the first woman who will achieve three album of the year wins. Some haters on Twitter and Clownderby will throw a fit for a day or two and then on to the next Grammy cycle.
