The NFL is allowing a limited vaccinated crowd to attend the superbowl, I wonder if the Grammy’s will do the same…
That would be a good idea. The AMAs had a socially distanced small group, which could work too.

because it was a better performance

It was, but I doubt voters also thought Shape of You was a better performance than Praying or Million Reasons.
Truth Hurts and Bad Guy were probably very close everywhere. Bad Guy likely got the edge on an expanded category since Rock/Alt and tech voters who likely went for it in the GF didn’t vote pop. Lizzo also had H.E.R and Lil Nas X taking votes away from her in the General Field.

And Ed Sheeran has won twice.

she’s also the only artist in that nomination who can perfectly re-craft cardigan again

Imo it’s because “Truth Hurts” blew up as a hit closer to voting than “bad guy”.

A smaller voting pool than the general field and Truth Hurts appeal to more “demographics”. In The GF she was likely splitting votes with Old Town Road and H.E.R for hip-hop and R&B voters. Also the Academy seemed to be obsessed with voting Finneas everywhere.

Honey, that part! Dumb ass users believe Pharrell Williams was ahead of Beyoncé in Album of the Year due to winning Best Urban Contemporary Album. That may not be true since every voter does NOT vote in the R&B Field. However, more voters vote in the General Field.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2021 at 8:44 pm #1203998264I agree that Truth Hurts and Bad Guy were extremely close but it’s Billie’s major support with the producers/engineers/alt/indie voters pushed her over. Billie probably had their full support while, like others said, Lizzo split a bit with her other voting blocks. Similar to how I don’t think it’s impossible to see a Dua BPVA with a Taylor AOTY win.

BNA: Phoebe BridgersJanuary 24, 2021 at 7:30 am #1203998719A Dua BPVA and Taylor AOTY split is not happening. Splits like that never happen since they’re both in AOTY.
The only split i can see is Dua with Pop Solo and Taylor Pop Album
