When Dua Lipa was voted in 2017, New Rules was just getting started in US, the song peaked in February 2018 on the radio, so she didn’t have any radio hits at the time of voting for her debut album.

I was referring to the year where New Rules (Live) was passed over in favour of Better Now actually.
And before you use the live excuse, Camila got in with Havana the same year.

Whatever, Dua Lipa sent 11,000 vinyls to voters, she is campaigning everywhere and has an album that fits the most the pop vocal album nomination. Post Malone fits more the criteria of AOTY, because he had the biggest album of the eligibility period.

Feel like one between Hollywood’s Bleeding or Future Nostalgia will NFR’d and the other will only get into pop vocal. They will wanna reward post for having the biggest album and Dua for her acclaim and production with a nomination in either but they won’t make it into both (unless we get 6 Pop vocal noms this year but one will still miss AOTY)

Because infamously, the biggest albums of the year miss their genre and only get in AOTY.
JK the last time the #1 on the BB200 YEC missed their genre was in 2008. The last time the #1 on the BB200 missed AOTY was in 2018.
Stop pretending like you know what you’re talking about. You don’t.

They usually give the biggest albums that they don’t like genre nods/wins only though.

Dua Lipa wont be in AOTY, if her album had moved as many units as Fine Line, she would have been a lock there, but she is not there yet with this era. The only case she is nominated in AOTY is the voters really love the album and want to give it across the board nominations.

On an unrelated note, Adele is hosting SNL next week and H.E.R. is performing. Just wow.
