I see all the reasons why Bob won’t be nominated and I dismiss them.

I still think he will make it.

Nice predictions I have a lot of the same. I see Cardigan getting into Song as if she doesn’t make Album she’ll likely end up there as compensation. I also think Adore You will make it to Song but unsure about Record. It had (and still has) great Longevity but I’m unsure about it since Record is just so competitive this year but I could see it in

Unless folklore scores a real hit, I don’t see it in AOTY. I agree about ROTY being competitive & I think SOTY and ROTY are both too competitive to have a filler like cardigan would be. Adore You could miss one of the two but it’s done so well on pop and adult charts I think it’s getting both.

Last year Goldderby users only correctly predicted 4 AOTY nominees and Father of The Bride was a “Dark Horse” with 68/1 odds.

what was the hit in nfr last year. you dont NEED a hit, it would just cement it

That’s why I think the only 4 albums the users are correctly predicting are:

After Hours, Folklore, PEMFBAS & Fetch. The rest are wildcards.

Not to toot my own horn, because I will, but I always knew Father of the Bride would be nommed.

Honey, A Tribe Called Quest was competing in a 5-nominee line-up.  In such a shitty year with 8 slots, Run the Jewels could sneak in Album of the Year.

NFR!, much like folklore, is more an alt. album than a pure pop album. So that’s why I agree that the need for a “hit” is overstated.

Sometimes I feel like predictions tend to skew too obscure. The GRAMMYS usually go with commercial fare from popular or mainstream acts.

AOTY will probably reflect a diverse array of well known artists who’ve had a notable year. Which is why The Weeknd, Taylor, & Roddy Ricch are locks IMO.

Nothing about folklore feels AOTY-y to me. I think she needs a hit because the last time she got in AOTY she had multiple legit #1s and I don’t think the committee will be able to ignore that comparison. She’s more competing with her past work than other albums from this year.

That’s the fun of prediction making

Last year Goldderby users only correctly predicted 4 AOTY nominees and Father of The Bride was a “Dark Horse” with 68/1 odds.

I agree that in terms of odds it wasn’t all too popular but on these forums I think it was pretty well predicted.

    FYC:

    folklore: AOTY, BPVA
    cardigan: SOTY

    Ungodly Hour: BPR&BA
    Do It: BR&BS
Wonder What She Thinks Of Me: BTR&BP

    Phoebe Bridgers: BNA
    Punisher: Alt. A
    Kyoto: BRS, BRP

One or more of the following popular acts are being underestimated and may land the nomination(s):

    Bad Bunny, YHLQMDLG
BTS, Map of the Soul: 7
    The Chicks, Gaslighter
    Chloe x Halle, Ungodly Hour
    Dua Lipa, Future Nostalgia
    Harry Styles, Fine Line
    Lady Gaga, Chromatica
    Megan Thee Stallion, Suga
    Post Malone, Hollywood’s Bleeding

I could see a case where some of these contenders miss their respective fields but still manage to sneak in AOTY.

I think people overpredicted Post Malone. His biggest shot is ROTY and that’s it, Hollywood’s Bleeding despite its longevity seems like an old news, people barely talk about him and the album unlike other competitors

    For you consideration :

Album of the year : folklore
Record of the year : Don't Start Now
Song of the year : cardigan
Best new artist : Phoebe Bridgers

Best pop vocal album : folklore
    Best rap album : Alfredo
Best alternative music album : Fetch the Bolt Cutters
Best progressive R&B album : Ungodly Hour
