It would be iconic and hilarious if a 2nd alum of The Voice UK got a Grammy nod before any of the US alum did.

Lol. Morgan Wallen is a The Voice US alum tho.

Is he?? Lol, being on that show really does nothing for launching your career.

    Edit:

Wait, he’s one for the people that sang 1D’s “Story of My Life” when Adam Levine commented “it’s about time to see men sing this song instead of boys” and all the directioners went ham on him.

am I the only one interested in this category? 🙁

so far we only know that Caribou’s & Grimes’ last albums were submitted into Alternative Album & that Grimes submitted 4 am/Gaga submitted Alice/Lipa submitted Hallucinate into Dance Recording.

I tried to ask Ms gilbert about couple of artists’ submissions in this field but I think I wanted too much ‘casue there were no answers at all or answers to questions that were not asked (https://twitter.com/Judasz85/status/1315740501748977668 & https://twitter.com/Judasz85/status/1317400063430320128). maybe some of you, if interested, can do better as Ms Gilbert has pdf on her computer with all the submissions…

Jack Garratt’s album is also in Alternative, not Dance.

    The Chemical Brothers – Surrender

I do not know what this album is doing in here. Originally released in 1999, had its 20th Anniversary Edition released in November 2019 but I do not think it is eligible…

Also, those are the songs – that charted either on US or UK dance charts – that I listed as possible nominees in Dance Recording (with “+” are confirmed submissions):
    220 KID & Gracey – Don’t Need Love +
CamelPhat & Jem Cooke – Rabbit Hole
    Disclosure – Energy
Disclosure & Amine & slowthai – My High
Disclosure & Fatoumata Diawara – Douha (Mali Mali)
    Duke Dumont – Therapy
Gryffin & Slander ft. Calle Lehmann – All You Need To Know
Gryffin ft. Maia Wright – Body Back
Jax Jones & Ella Henderson – This Is Real (more pop?)
Jax Jones & Martin Solveig ft. Raye – Tequila (more pop?)
Joel Corry – Lonely (more pop?)
Joel Corry & MNEK – Head & Heart (more pop?)
Kygo & Sasha Sloan – I’ll Wait (more pop?)
    Love Regenerator – Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)
Love Regenerator & Steve Lacy – Live Without Your Love
Meduza ft. Shells – Born To Love
Nathan Dawe ft. KSI – Lighter (more pop?)
Paul Woolford & Diplo ft. Kareen Lomax – Looking For Me
    Regard & Raye – Secrets
Tiesto & Becky Hill – Nothing Really Matters (more pop?)
Topic & A7S – Breaking Me (more pop?)

and some tracks that didn’t chart on the above charts mentioned:
SG Lewis & Robyn & Channel Tres – Impact
    Elderbrook – Numb
Kaytranada ft. Kali Uchis – 10%

According to A2IM’s spreadsheet, Chromatics submitted Closer to Grey to dance/electronic album. Do you think that it has a chance to be nominated?

Ego Death was confirmed in Pop. Also I believe Disclosure submitted My High.

Alice by Lady Gaga and Hallucinate by Dua Lipa are confirmed to be in Dance Recording.

Hopefully Gaga and Dua can snatch the nominations, so this category can be interesting for the very first time since pop artists were banned

    Natalie confirmed Ego Death?
yeah, I believe My High could be submitted but we do not know for sure.
Regarding Alice & Hallucinate I mention it in the previous post but I do not believe those songs will be nominated.

Actually I hope those mediocre so-called dance tracks won’t get nominated. Since pop artists are banned, this category is finally more “dance/electronic” & interesting than ever.

I’m such a bad Chemical Brothers fan lol. I was catching up on this thread and thought, “Huh, that ‘Surrender’ name rings a bell…”

It wasn’t until I saw the post clarifying that it’s the 20th anniversary edition that I remembered the album. My favorite Chemical Brothers song (“Let Forever Be”) is even on it!! XD

These are my predictions: we all know that Disclosure, Mura Masa, and Caribou will get nominated. Arca might be nominated too since this is supposed to be her album to breakthrough into the industry. I think Tokimonsta would also be nominated too. I really would want KAYTRANADA to be nominated and win in all dance categories, but his music doesn’t really fit this category based on previous years. Also will he ever be nominated for Best New Artist? I think Flume will be nominated in Best Dance Recording. I think the club single that the Grammys will choose will be Breaking Me, since it’s getting a lot of hype from dance artists around the world. What I really would want to win dance recording would be SBCNCSLY by Black Coffee and Sabrina Claudio. The Chainsmokers will always be out of this category unless they make something like don’t let me down.

Tbh it felt the last 3 Arca albums were her breakthough into the industry. However, after SOPHIE got a nom things looks mroe promising to her.

Chromatica and Fetch the Bolt Cutters AOTYs yeah
