Watch Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit “Reunions” suddenly make it into final eight of AOTY. Don’t underestimate the power of acclaimed Americana/country album. Me think

I just cannot at some people saying exile is out of nominees contention for BPDG. You have an acclaim song by two established acclaim artists competing in such weak ass year. Breathe feat. Colbie Caillat could make it in more competitive year, I just don’t see exile get snubbed.

Women in Music Vol. III (Circles)

It’s interesting that there are no limits of nominations in SOTY, but an artist only can be nominated twice in ROTY being only once as a lead.

No multiple nominations in Pop Duo/Group either.

Don’t forget Beyoncé or Kelly Clarkson can get a filler nomination in Pop Solo, there always one at least in the past five years I think.

It definitely could see them snubbed. The critical acclaimed pop darling always gets snubbed over the pop superstars. The fact that Melodrama or Norman Fucking Rockwell didn’t get in Pop Vocal. Delicate, a critically acclaimed song from reputation., was snubbed, even though it went number 12 with stability. High Horse and Make Me Feel were highly critical acclaimed songs and still got snubbed. I could go on and on…

    RIP SOPHIE

Who knows maybe we will get a surprise nominee for AOTY, a darkhorse coming out of nowhere. Any idea what album will pull The Blessed Unrest. No hype, no acclaim, no sales.

The difference is that this is a critically acclaimed song by a very respected band and a well liked pop superstar. It could totally miss but there is a difference between those examples since the Taylor x Bon Iver combo appeals to both the snobby more pretentious side of voters (though they probably don’t have a strong presence in the pop field) and the more pop geared voters as opposed to just the ones who value critics.

(Delicate is a more valid comparison but she was so hated that era that we can pretty much consider the reputation album as sort of outlying data for Taylor since they did re-embrace her during the Lover era)
