Future Nostalgia is a good Pop Album, nothing ground-breaking. Some people are overhyping it, it deserves nominations, but I don’t see wins.

I don’t know if it’s just me but this trend of songs and albums that desperately try to simulate some kind of 80s atmosphere is starting to get annoying and repetitive. I’m not sure who/what started it but I lost track of time after 1989 and EMOTION, which weren’t as over the top as Future Nostalgia and Blinding Lights.

    Viva la revolución.

It’s not just you. “Blinding Lights” is especially annoying.

Blinding Lights was good but then has been overplayed and I really wish it would stop being the only song on radio (obviously not true but I’ve seen stations play it within 20 minutes from the last time they played it). Kinda similar with Circles as well (I do prefer circles but I can tell it’s been overplayed and needs to die soon) I’m just waiting for a total wipe off what’s on the top 20 and getting some new stuff. Like I’m waiting for Adele and Rihanna and Drake (just kidding I’m hoping he doesn’t release anything else)

No, and it won’t be leaked until the end of September/October, when the voting starts.

    higher audience score

LOL to your audience score! Anyways, folklore and Future Nostalgia are equal in terms of quality. What matters IMO is if indie circles pick up on the acclaim, but both aren’t better in acclaim then RTJ4 or Fetch the Bolt Cutters. Both seem to do well with others.

Petition the Grammys to award albums without commercial acclaim and give it to Fetch the Bolt Cutters or RTJ4. Those are the best in terms of quality.

We can’t “petition” them to constrain their opinion. They could award “WAP” used toilet paper for all I care.

The “Blinding Lights” production is like a darker version of “Take On Me” by a-ha

Album with best user critic score: Future Nostalgia

I just checked Metacritic and folklore has a user score of 9.2 compared to Future Nostalgia’s 8.8? Not sure if that’s what you meant but if so then it’s wrong. It’s also an irrelevant stat but we’ll ignore that.
