Sure, that was just an example off the top of my head. I still find it highly unlikely that every nominated song was written intentionally for the film it’s in.

Like ciguanaba said, she’s not getting in anyways so it doesn’t really matter.

Yeah the only example of that rule’s enforcement that I remember is that Miley song. And it was at the request of the label rather than the Grammy’s. It’s hard to enforce that rule.

Let’s just say she should’ve went with Beautiful Ghosts (but neither would make the cut)

I don’t like Only The Young tbh, one of my least favorite Taylor’s songs, but since the category doesn’t have a committee it might be nominated, especially with the Folklore hype.

Is there a thread to discuss the visual media categories? I don’t even know what’s in contention

    I’m predicting for now:

    • Brandi Carlile, Tim Hanseroth & Phil Hanseroth, “Carried Me with You” (Onward)
    • Billie Eilish & Finneas O’Connell, “No Time to Die” (No Time to Die)
    • Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez, “Into the Unknown” (Frozen II)
    • Cynthia Erivo & Joshuah Brian Campbell, “Stand Up” (Harriet)

Only the Young should be nominated and it would be very deserving, fits Swift current public image with her Trump tweets. Also, the song is about elections, quite relevant.

The song being relevant doesn’t make it any better. The message is unclear and nonsensical.

I think Beautiful Ghosts is better than Only The Young, although I love both songs. I do think Only The Young has a better chance than Beautiful Ghosts, people hate CATS so when they see that I think they won’t give it a chance. In comparison, Only The Young has a political message + it’s linked to a music film which could be nominated for ‘Best Music Film’ + it did better on charts (including charting on the Billboard Hot 100) + the film it is apart of got good reviews.

The message is a very controversial statement that no other celebrity has made; ‘Trump BAD’

No but seriously, I think Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince is definitely Taylor’s best political song. Sometimes being subtle works.
