Critics just got on the train the first week because it is something different, especially for pop. But it’s not an album that ages well so its positions on lists won’t be even close to the MC score.

I actually grew to appreciate SAWAYAMA after being pretty dismissive towards it the first few months it was out. It has some extreme bops (Snakeskin, XS, Tokyo Love Hotel) but it also has a handful of blah detours and it hops on a bunch of trends. I’m also tired of everything-but-the-kitchen-sink pop records. I do feel that it’s better than all of the radio pop Grammy contenders (Future Nostalgia, Chromatica, Fine Line).

I think Fetch The Bolt Cutters, Run the Jewels 4 and Set My Heart On Fire Immediatey are a relatively safe top three. I expect Punisher, Forklore, Rough and Rowdy Ways to all be in the top ten. Future Nostalgia may crack the top ten. I’m seeing After Hours just missing.

Same here. I think Taylor will have an advantage for being mainstream just like Billie last year.

Pop Solo Performance seems quite locked with Blinding Lights, Don’t Star Now, Circles, Everything I Wanted and the fifth slot to a non-commercial single/track.

All the pop categories are pretty much set in stone at the moment unless After Hours gets into pop instead of Progressive R&B

    Best Pop Solo Performance

    1. The Weeknd- Blinding Lights
    2. Dua Lipa- Don’t Start Now
    3. Doja Cat- Say So
    4. Billie Eilish- Everything I Wanted
    5. Post Malone- Circles

This may seem like a stretch but I can see Doja pull off a win next year for Say So if she gets nominated similarly like Truth Hurts. I know to some its a “delusional” claim but the song has signing and rapping elements (versatile) that I think favored Truth Hurts last year. Plus Doja sounds great in it. I’m not sure what voters look for when choosing the winners of this category but they all have a chance. Nevertheless this is a tricky category to predict. I can see Don’t Start Now or Circles winning this as well.

I don’t see the top three for Taylor. We know how prominent ‘Fetch’ will be. While I feel there’s a pretty decent chance Punisher and Future Nostalgia will be in a lot of top ten’s. Critics are also just as political as anyone else. And many publications will not want a bunch of white women at the top of their lists. While I don’t see RTJ4 not making the top 3. It’s acclaimed, political, did well in mid-year lists, and critics are always looking for a hip-hop/rap album they can champion. That album is the obvious choice this year. Forklore could somehow push aside Set My Heart On Fire Immediately and Punisher and end up in the top 3. But I don’t see that happening.

I don’t know what all you wokesters have been smoking, but Dua Lipa has had AOTY wrapped up since March, and I’m the biggest T-Swizzle fan you can find.

Sorry dude but bunch of critics don’t really care about political issue unlike Grammy. They will put anyone who they think deserve the top spot. A reminder that The Suburbs and Blackstar snatched #1 spot over My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Lemonade respectively.
