ReplyCopy URLDecember 3, 2020 at 7:09 pm #1203893283So ASCAP is crediting “Don’t Start Now” to Dr. Luke…
Dua, sweetie…
ReplyCopy URLDecember 3, 2020 at 8:15 pm #1203893348he is the owner of the place that the actual producer is hired, he had nothing to do with the actual song. don’t try.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 3, 2020 at 9:05 pm #1203893393I think there will be a split this year. I don’t think “Don’t Start Now” is sweeping.

If not DSN, then which song?

Don’t know yet, but “Don’t Start Now” is definitely a beatable song. I think its most vulnerable in SOTY. I don’t necessarily think the Billboard stats/trends will matter this year. I can see “Cardigan” or even “I Can’t Breathe” taking it. If the Grammys are still on the Billie tip, then she could scoop up another win somewhere.

Imagine if he’s actually a ghost producer or something? It wouldn’t surprise me. However bad he is as a person, he’s very good at producing hits.
Honestly I doubt ASCAP would make such a big gaffe since they’re literally the organization that registers credits. But who knows, maybe it’s really a mistake.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 3, 2020 at 11:30 pm #1203893477Oh it turns out Dr. Luke IS actually involved with Don’t Start Now:
https://variety.com/2020/music/news/dr-luke-back-doja-cat-say-so-kesha-1234605151/“His Prescription Songs publishing company is a powerhouse that has won ASCAP’s Indie Publisher of the Year crown three times in the decade since its founding, and has credits on dozens of hits, including Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” and “New Rules” and Arizona Zervas’ “Roxanne.””
