Oh it turns out Dr. Luke IS actually involved with Don’t Start Now: https://variety.com/2020/music/news/dr-luke-back-doja-cat-say-so-kesha-1234605151/ “His Prescription Songs publishing company is a powerhouse that has won ASCAP’s Indie Publisher of the Year crown three times in the decade since its founding, and has credits on dozens of hits, including Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” and “New Rules” and Arizona Zervas’ “Roxanne.””

    Yikes

    FYC:

Taylor Swift- AOTY, SOTY, Pop Duo/Group Performance, Pop Vocal Album

Phoebe Bridgers- BNA, Rock Song, Rock Performance, Alternative Album

Dua Lipa- ROTY, Pop Solo Performance

Chloe x Halle- Traditional R&B Performance, R&B Song, Progressive R&B Album

Dr. Luke is sadly going to be normalized again. His hits are too hard to resist. I mean you can see what Say So and Don’t Start Now have done for Doja and Dua’s careers respectively. It’s a sad truth that artists probably care about their own careers than justice.

I kinda feel bad for Katy because she relied on him so much and the moment she stopped her career went downhill. She might as well just work with him if others are already doing it secretly.

He’s a big hit maker. He had a string of hits the past decade like.. the entire teenage dream was all his production. He got a lot of bad PR in the last couple of years and big names were hesitant to work with him so he latched on to upcoming artists with a lot of potential … doja.. Kim petras etc etc and now that Say So became a commercial hit and Kim petras had considerable success too , his career is back on track. Such a shame.

There you go. Produced a lot of the hits that defined the last decade. Maybe the only pop stars that I haven’t seen on the list are Beyoncé, Gaga and Taylor Swift.

why would Kim Petras work with him? Isn’t she a trailblazer in the trans community?

    Ariana I think.

And Sia as well. Adele obvs. Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars.

Beyonce, Ariana, Taylor, Gaga, Sia, Adele, Bruno, Ed. These people almost mostly like can really really write and work on their own stuff.

In 2011 (I think) she collabed with B.O.B. on a song that was produced by him. It’s called Both of Us and the entire Swiftie fandom basically forgot about it.
