The real kicker is if “Circles” wins ROTY and/or SOTY without being nominated in Pop Solo. Given the state of award shows now, it would not surprise me one bit.

It’s the third consecutive ROTY nomination for Post, it could happen.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Post could not beat jb for a pop nomination. He can’t have that much cross genre support that will push him to a win in any general category</p>

Stranger things have happened, and not all trends will hold up. We also don’t know how many people actually voted in the first round, or what could have contributed to certain snubs.

I’m just saying don’t be surprised if Post Malone wins ROTY and/or SOTY. “Circles” was a huge hit and probably the biggest hit nominated. It still has chance.

Maybe this is stupid but I’ve switched SOTY to I Can’t Breathe.

Every film/tv award show has had a black nominee upset in a major category. I’m aware that this is terrible basis considering that the grammys are different to the Globes/Emmys but I feel like this represents a changing tide. There’s an actual chance that the best director and all actor winners are POC this year at the Oscars which is huge. Not to mention, H.E.R is getting nominated for an Oscar in two weeks so that buzz could help her.

I’ve seen 3 voters reveal their ballots for SOTY. It’s a low sample size obviously but 2 of them went for H.E.R. The name of the song alone is going to get it some votes.

The last time a song about BLM got nominated, it upset. Obviously TIA was an actual cultural moment whereas ICB is essentially unknown but this proves that the grammys would be able to pick a BLM song.

I know these are all weak points and I’m sure that SOTY will inevitably go to Taylor or Dua but 2020 award shows have just been bizarre to say the least. With how surprising the nominations were, I’m sure the wins will also be surprising. This is sort of more of an instinct based prediction and honestly, it’s fun to gamble.

I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.

“This Is America” was definitely not an upset. But I do agree that “I Can’t Breathe” is competitive for the win.

Ah my bad, I didn’t follow grammys back then. I just thought that Shallow was a strong frontrunner

It was but TIA was definitely not far behind. Think Future Nostalgia over folklore this year.

Get real!  Post Malone is NOT winning Record of the Year and/or Song of the Year.  He is in the same lane as Katy Perry.

When Post Malone wins a random Grammy one year will ppl stop equating him to Katy Perry? 🤷🏾‍♂️

At least Katy Perry received Pop nominations. The sole reason why Post Malone was nominated everywhere in the GF this year is his lack of support. He’s definitely the Lorde/Lana of 2021 considering that he couldn’t get more votes than effing Yummy.

SOTY could go to either Taylor or Dua, but the latter has 1.95 hands on the ROTY award.

Beyoncé & H.E.R. won’t upset. The Grammys only nominated BLM songs to seem woke but once again the GF will be 4/4 white. If anyone has a remote chance of pulling an upset, it’s Billie. But I don’t believe she’s winning again.
