I hope Ledisi win her first Grammy next year. “Anything For You” is amazing. Also manifesting R&B Song win for “Collide”.

    I did OK.

I got 3/5 in Prog R&B album. I chose the wrong Robert Glasper project in Prog R&B otherwise it would’ve been 4/5

I’m so fucking proud of my Free Nationals prediction!!

They could have nominated Brandy for something, but I didn’t feel all the way confident about her anyway.

I noticed that I didn’t really see PJ Morton nominated here unless he is credited with the “Anything for You” nomination with Ledisi.

She’s nominated for the solo version.

I really wish R&B had nominated all women in a category, just like Rock did. They really let men take over the noms in a year where women dominated the genre :/

I’m a little surprised with Ledisi being nominated for the solo version of “Anything for You” and not the duet with PJ Morton and that being said, I think this is the time to finally give her a Grammy.

Speaking of PJ Morton, he is only nominated in Gospel. He has been a favorite in the R&B field over the past few years, what happened to him this year?

With Progressive R&B Album, it is between Jhene Aiko and Chloe x Halle and with Aiko’s surprise AOTY nomination (to me at least) she has the edge. Could she pull an upset in R&B Performance with her song with John Legend?

Speaking of John Legend, I think he wins R&B Album since he is the most known name there. Also, what is with the all male lineup when women have had a great year in the genre?

Now with R&B Song, H.E.R. will cancel herself out with “Slow Down” and “Better Than I can Imagine”. Beyonce is the frontrunner, also could Chloe x Halle pull off a win here?

So many questions. What do you guys think?

R&B Performance & Song – Beyoncé, “Black Parade”

Progressive R&B – Jhene Aiko, Chilombo

R&B Album – John Legend, Bigger Love

Traditional R&B – Ledisi, “Anything For You”

Can we discuss why R&B Album is always so male dominated? 🤔

Please don’t get my hopes up that the fabulous Ledisi will finally win. She’s usually up against Grammy big name favorites like Beyonce, Rhinna, or Lalah Hathaway. I don’t really know any of the names she’s up against besides CHloe X Halle.

    Can she REALLY win?

    R&B Performance – BLACK PARADE
    R&B Song – Do It
Traditional R&B – Wonder What She Thinks of Me
    R&B Album – Bigger Love
    Progressive R&B – Chilombo

I must say I am impressed with the nominations for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Anyone can win but I support for Ledisi’s first win.

    Performance- black parade

song- do it or black parade

traditional- wonder what she thinks of me

progressive R&B- I think it might a childish gambino year where he was nominated for AOY but lost to starboy. So i see chloe x Halle winning over jhene

The winners as strategically set up by the nominations selected by the R&B panel are:

    R&B Performance: Beyoncé
    R&B Song: Beyoncé
    R&B Album: John Legend
    Progressive R&B Album: Jhené Aiko
Traditional: Ledesi (with an outside shot by CxH)

Honey, no Brandy, Toni Braxton, and Summer Walker.  I’m shook!  🙁

Not shocked at the Toni snubs. Her album was really a dud.

Toni deserved at least a Traditional R&B nomination with Kem. Oh well, she’s still got 7 GRAMMYs on her mantle. Legend 👏🏾

    What should happen

R&B Performance: “All I Need” – Jacob Collier ft. Mahalia & Ty Dolla Sign
    R&B Song: “Collide” – Tiana Major9 & EARTHGANG
R&B Album: Take Time – Giveon
Progressive R&B Album: Ungodly Hour – Chloe x Halle
Traditional R&B Performance: “Anything For You” – Ledisi

    What will happen

R&B Performance: “BLACK PARADE” – Beyoncé
R&B Song: “BLACK PARADE” – Beyoncé
R&B Album: Bigger Love – John Legend
Progressive R&B Album: Ungodly Hour – Chloe x Halle
Traditional R&B Performance: “Anything For You” – Ledisi*

*The only way Ledisi would lose is if the Recording Academy rewards Chloe x Halle based on popularity. If she loses this Grammy to them, I will refer to the Grammys as the Scammys because there ain’t no way anyone will convince me that “Wonder What She Thinks of Me” is superior to or more deserving than “Anything For You.”

Who am I? You'll find out soon. Ciao, for now!
