Honey, no Brandy, Toni Braxton, and Summer Walker. I’m shook!
Not surprised that Summer got snubbed. She’s trash. It’s what she deserves.

November 24, 2020 at 11:27 pm #1203870389R&B Performance & Song – Beyoncé, “Black Parade” Progressive R&B – Jhene Aiko, Chilombo R&B Album – John Legend, Bigger Love Traditional R&B – Ledisi, “Anything For You” Can we discuss why R&B Album is always so male dominated?
I see great minds think alike! And yes, to quote Kamala Harris, I think we should have that conversation. Let’s start with Brandy and Teyana Taylor. They were robbed, plain and simple.

November 24, 2020 at 11:36 pm #1203870397I noticed that I didn’t really see PJ Morton nominated here unless he is credited with the “Anything for You” nomination with Ledisi.
PJ was only nominated for Gospel Album. I told everyone in the R&B forum he wasn’t getting nominated for the duet. It wasn’t well received and Ledisi certainly didn’t need the help like y’all thought. I knew she could, should, and would get the solo nod. I’m boasting because I feel vindicated.

November 25, 2020 at 12:04 am #1203870450predicting a surprise upset in traditional r&b performance with yebba winning for distance…. she’s a future grammy darling in the making.

You would think with all the industry support Teyana receives, that would translate to a nomination. 🤷🏾♂️

I think Beyoncé’s pretty much got it in the bag. “Black Parade” over performed.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 25, 2020 at 5:16 am #1203871091I’m not going to bother making final predictions here since the R&B panel typically likes to be random and go their own way.

November 25, 2020 at 5:34 am #1203871133I would love to know who’s on the R&B panel. They ignored industry and listener support to push forward a bunch of men. It’s actually insulting.

There’s literally more women than men nominated in the R&B field.

I think they are referring to the Best R&B Album category. All of the nominees are men.
But on another note…screw the R&B panel. And screw Harvey Mason. Toni Braxton gave your mediocre ass production jobs when you were barely working and you couldn’t even give her a single nom, all the while bending over backwards for Beyonce’s overrated ass.
(I know that’s not how the Grammys work but i just need to vent).

Yep, I was referring to R&B Album. I also don’t think men deserved 3/5 spots in Progressive R&B but that’s petty to argue over.
