So, Jhené, having the best selling R&B album of the year meams nothing? Not even one predicted nom lol
Her album was the biggest (in sales) this time around.
It was not. Summer’s album is split between years.
If you’re taking the full run of Summer’s album and not just its 2020 units (which you should as the Grammy period is what matters):
Over It – 1,374,000 (396K in 2019 BB200 YE + 978K in 2020 BB200 YE)
Chilombo – 777,000 (only in 2020 BB200 YE)And this past week’s BB200 only has Summer 5 spots below Jhené despite her album being 4 months older… Over It is the biggest contender of the year.

Umm.. I didn’t like her submissions. She went all in with BS and H.E.R is already over saturated in the R&B field . I could see her getting into Progressive but I just don’t have her in at the moment.
October 5, 2020 at 8:11 am #1203760803Her Perf submissions were eh. I see she didn’t wanna submit the explicit title songs. (P*$$Y Fairy and H.O.E.)
She should’ve did “None of Your Concern” or “Above & Beyond” for Performance.
Lightning & Thunder was good.
October 5, 2020 at 3:32 pm #1203762133what do y’all think about Victoria Monét? I think she could get a nomination on R&B Song with “Moment”
October 5, 2020 at 7:42 pm #1203762562does anybody know about kehlani and kiana’s submissions? and if they have a chance?
we’re missing so many R&B submissions. I hope someone comes through for us.
between the 3-4 categories, I can imagine a scenario where Kehlani, Kiana, and Victoria all get nominated. But that’s me being optimistic.
October 9, 2020 at 12:44 pm #1203768992Tinashe made it to Regular R&B while Summer is in Progressive . Interesting

even though I disagree with the placement, R&B is way less crowded this year. Hopefully Tee can get the nomination.
October 9, 2020 at 4:13 pm #1203769246Tinashe was approved to be placed in R&B Album? 🤔
Hmm.
👑Cicely Tyson (1924-2021)
👑Mary Wilson (1944-2021)October 9, 2020 at 8:23 pm #1203769449The R&B submissions are a mess this year. I knew the whole “Progressive” situation would just be chaotic. Ain’t no way SongsforYou is Traditional R&B. Neither is “Come Thru”. To think that might compete with Ledisi lmfaooo.

Why? “Playing Games” was Summer Walker’s biggest hit. Top 20 at Billboard Hot 100. I don’t think “Come Thru” even cracked the Top 40.
Speaking of… even if “Come Thru” was accepted in Traditional R&B Performance (which yes is hard to believe), there is no way the picky R&B panel will select it for a nomination.
October 11, 2020 at 8:05 pm #1203772209Wait…Teyana Taylor’s album was submitted to R&B & not progressive!? Huh?
👑Cicely Tyson (1924-2021)
👑Mary Wilson (1944-2021)October 12, 2020 at 12:11 am #1203772448Come Thru in Traditional is MEGA fraud. I don’t know how the screening panel let her away with that. Even Playing Games sounds more “Traditional”.

We still don’t know. I just have her in as a placeholder because no one bother to ask Natalie or whomever for her submissions.
October 12, 2020 at 6:27 am #1203772626Hopefully the R&B committee doesn’t nominate some of these frauds. I see you Tinashe.
