It really is unpredictable, however Black Metal rarely tends to get recognised, the only Black Metal bands I can think of that were nominated were Cradle Of Filth and Deafheaven since I would call Meshuggan more Doom Metal.
Djent metal.

Ozzy submitted “Take what you want” for rock perf and rock song and “It’s a raid” for rock perf. So, “Under the graveyard” probably was submitted for metal peeformance.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 24, 2020 at 9:49 am #1203800155Sept.1, 2019 – Aug. 31, 2020 is the release eligibility, so that means any song/album/EP coming out on and between those dates is able to get a Grammy nomination for the 2021 ceremony if they submit for one, if it comes out before September 1st 2019 it is not eligible for this years ceremony.
Slipknots album “We Are Not Your Kind” was released on May 19th 2019, Unsainted was released as a single on May 16th 2019, so Unsainted cannot be nominated this year. Nero Forte was released as a single on December 2019 so it has a chance of being nominated because it was in the eligibility period.
It isn’t a case of “oh I released an album in 2016 but because I didn’t submit it for the Grammys I can still submit it instead in 2023 even though the album is already out) it doesn’t work like that. Eligibility is when the album/Song/EP is released.
you do not even know how not right you are, don’t you?
“A track or single from a previous year’s album is eligible in the General, Pop, Dance, Gospel/CCM, Rock, R&B, Rap, Country, and American Roots Music Fields provided the recording was not entered as a track or single the previous year and provided the album did not win a GRAMMY in a performance category. “.

so if all of us do not know if Unsainted was submitted for 62nd Grammys & it actually peaked in top 10 on Mainstream Rock in July, then I’m keeping it as a minor contender (casue Neo Forte actually has about 5% chances to get in here) on my list.
and you know why?
because I would never thought that Kaleo’s No Good would’ve been nominated: a song released on 12 February 2016, from an album released on 10 June 2016, that peaked in top 10 on Mainstream Rock in June 2016. I did not think it would be submitted as a track from an album released during previous eligibility period & I did not know it wasn’t submitted during this previous eligibility period.
same situation here. do you follow me with this?October 24, 2020 at 9:52 am #1203800168Yes. They probably submitted Nero Forte this year.
do you have any link to some confirmation of this submission? without any proof, there is a good reason to doubt it as I mentioned in my previous post.

^ You need to learn more about Grammy rules & history. Your argument is off and what’s worse – you sound so damn sure you are right! ^
