They should just eliminate that Best New Artist category. It’s just pointless because their inconsistency with their rules
ReplyCopy URLOctober 21, 2020 at 2:49 pm #1203794814Pharrell won Best Pop Vocal Album for Sweetener and the award is listed on his Grammy page. I guess the Grammys haven’t yet updated producers, mixers, songwriters lists for this years Grammys on their wesbite. That’s why the wins are not appearing on Brandi and Finneas’ pages.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 21, 2020 at 4:40 pm #1203795123Ok question: Lewis Capaldi was nominated for SOTY so he’s ineligible for BNA.
According to their rules, bc that was also his “breakout” song as an “artist” he isn’t eligible (otherwise he would have been).

They did submit. They were on the A2IM PDF. Billboard just listed acts who they think can get in.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 22, 2020 at 7:13 pm #1203797455Honey, they should NOT eliminate the Best New Artist category, They need to stop changing the rules every damn year and be more strict with the entries.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 23, 2020 at 12:41 am #1203797767Instead of BNA maybe change the name to Breakthrough Artist. So acts who were previously nominated as a feature, songwriter, or producer are eligible for their debut albums.

👑Mary Wilson (1944-2021)October 24, 2020 at 2:21 pm #1203800477Do we know which one of the Blake + Gwen collaborations was submitted to the Country field?
Nobody But You is the biggest hit (and is the better song imo) but it might feel kinda old now, while Happy Anywhere is more recent, getting a lot of airplay on Country radio and it’s still rising.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 26, 2020 at 12:10 pm #1203803683Am I reading correctly that Juice WRLD did not have Godzilla (w/ Eminem) nor Life’s a Mess (w/ Halsey) submitted?

October 30, 2020 at 2:25 pm #1203812044Forgive me if I’ve overlooked it, but has it been said yet when the nominations will be announced? Any news concerning about Alison Krauss, High Valley, and Josh Turner will also be so very much appreciated. (smiles) God bless you and them always!!! Holly (a fan of Alison since 1994)

Another person that I am curious about is country singer Brett Young. His song named “Lady” is good stuff. (smiles)
God bless you and him always!!!
Holly
“Lady” is the only eligible solo single for him for the upcoming 63rd Grammy Awards. It should be a safe bet to assume it was submitted to Country Solo and Country Song, as well as ROTY/SOTY.
