This and the scooter braun/flopanges situation are now all adding up
I don’t necessarily think “payola” helped them. They received a BNA nomination last year so they were obviously on the radar of many voters.
Colors was actually a minor hit. This live version has accumulated almost 50M views, and the song has over 30M streams on Spotify. It was also a hit on several radio formats including #1 on AAA radio.
November 24, 2020 at 2:25 pm #1203867263As soon as they went past the R&B categories I knew they would be shutting out The Weeknd.
he didnt even submit in r&b chile.
But yeah abel’s case feels like the one where everybody predicted in obligation. he could be many’s 3rd or 4th place but not the #1 to anyone. So a lack of passion happened.
Still think brp couldve included him in roty and shit but anyway
November 24, 2020 at 2:26 pm #1203867265Wanna hear another secret? This year’s pop solo performance was expanded to six, when it was only 5 nominations for many years. It’s as if Scooter/someone in the grammy committee he’s “best friend” with snuck that flop in and intentionally expanded that to 6 so yummy could be nominated cause all other 5 nominees are sure lock and nothing can be removed without anyone batting an eye.

November 24, 2020 at 2:26 pm #1203867269this shows The Weeknd doesn’t have the industry support some of y’all claim he did. yes blinding lights was snubbed and deserved at least a ROTY nom but after hours could have easily missed and we tried telling y’all that.
I think it was that night he partied without wearing a mask
November 24, 2020 at 2:27 pm #1203867275The Coldplay nomination is almost as weird as the “Yummy” nomination(I mean, WHY? Just WHY?).
I haven’t listened to the Coldplay album and I never will.
November 24, 2020 at 2:27 pm #1203867277Even if Beyonce does win ROTY and SOTY to “justify” Taylors 3rd AOTY, why couldn’t the weekend have made it into ROTY?, its almost comparable to if uptown funk was snubbed in ROTY. Blinding Lights was a HUGE song and for it to miss ROTY means the Grammys straight up removed him.
BL wouldn’t have won anyways, Max Martin has a terrible record in ROTY.
Congratulations Taylor Swift on 6 Grammy Nominations

Pop Vocal Album: folklore
Song Written for Visual Media: Beautiful GhostsNovember 24, 2020 at 2:27 pm #1203867279I’m almost more shocked at Roddy missing. He felt like a complete lock to me. I think we thought too much into this year and the politics behind it when this committee just picked their favorites.

Phoebe Bridgers- BNA, Rock Song, Rock Performance, Alternative Album

Don’t use this excuse, literally Mustin also partied there without a mask on and he was not affected, unless scooter’s power uses $300M he got from selling taylor’s masters. And I now think the reason he sold it for $3ooM is to use it to bribe someone in the grammy committee so Justin could get nominated. He might have paid them $50M dollars
November 24, 2020 at 2:29 pm #1203867298I agree. It feels less like a popularity contest and more like a good representation of quality music. Except for Post Malone.
My sides hurt.
November 24, 2020 at 2:30 pm #1203867302After Hours = Taylor’s Red if she had submitted to Pop Vocal after losing Pop Solo noms to Call Me Maybe
