WTF is that user on about?

they’ve been going on for hours about how Taylor paid the grammys to snub The Weeknd, it’s just complete nonsense.

There’s gonna be a lot of conspiracy theories. And I get it. I don’t care how you frame it or how you feel about After Hours and “Blinding Lights”. Who gets completely shut out of nominations while while having the biggest single of the year, one of the of the biggest albums of the year, solid acclaim, and is something who has previously gotten major nods? It just don’t happen. It makes the academy either look corrupt or completely out of touch. It completely evaporates whatever little credibility and importance they had left. And that’s on top of the nonsensical and now non-competitive AOTY line-up, Beiber getting four nods, hip-hop being shut out of AOTY two years in a row. But unlike previous years, this year will legitimately stain them. You can at least make of sense out of the previous years.

I think Abel deserved ROTY and Pop Solo for sure-those were the most egregious snubs. It’s almost offensive.

What I’m going to say is that the nomination announcement was a rollercoaster. I was so sure that Jaime was going to be nommed only for it to be snubbed.

for reals as soon as I saw Jaime in Engineered Album and in several other genre nods I for sure thought she’d be the most nominated female. Then, Beyoncé happened. I was gagged.

Congratulations Taylor Swift on 6 Grammy Nominations

hahaha QUEEN. I don’t even like her but that’s some power move.

That said, SAVAGE was always a deserving record.

Turns out Cardi B didn’t submit anything this year possibly as a matter of stance rather than strategic decision:

I have a hard time believing Jacob Collier, Coldplay, and Black Pumas made top 20.

It’s apparent the BRP is small and can easily be manipulated and guided. Write-in’s should absolutely not be allowed. Then again, I’ve always been of the opinion that the top 4-5 popular vote getters should automatically be in. And the BRP should decide the other 3-4 nominees. Something like this year just reveals how flawed that system is.

Yup. I find it really hard to believe that FTBC, nommed across the board in both Alt and Rock, didn’t make the top 20.

Which is to say I don’t have anything against the nominees in AOTY. Except Coldplay and Serena Cha Cha.

I’ve never even heard of this Jacob person, I seriously doubt they actually made the top 20.

Deborah already told us they don’t care about the top 20

Jacob Collier, Coldplay and Black Pumas are the BRP driven choices i think.

Indeed. But I gotta say when I saw Fiona miss Engineered I knew it was over.
