I wonder how far in advance do artist/labels know about Grammy rule changes?

You can rest assured that labels keep track of every industry detail through and through.

In complex cases, big labels typically have data scientists and data analysts (in-house or contracted) that could EASILY use coding to comb ANY website/forum, then employ AI techniques to extract key information like updates, public opinion, new artists, interesting news etc.

They just choose to make business-benefiting decisions, not necessarily what pleases the artist/fans.

IMO, the possible winners of AOTY are:

    1. Sour

    2. An Even with Silk Sonic

    3. Daddy’s Home

    4. Happier Than Ever

    5. HEAUX TALES

    6. Call Me If You Get Lost (reach, but yeah)

Honestly I am curious why rap music has been underlooked in AOTY in 2020/2021. Both years, there were 0 rap albums in AOTY

H.E.R. collab will split H.E.R. voters and that benefits other contenders.

But…H.E.R. just won R&B Song despite having 2 nominations in 1 category. Vote splitting won’t be a factor.

nahh they just became sellouts too

BTS has had multiple big name artists wanting to collab with them for a few years. They have done a few but not all that want them to.

    From the Weverse Mag:
“When BTS entered the US, they did not sign a contract with a famous US label. HYBE America CEO Yoon Seok-jun said, “Around 2017, I received love calls from many famous American labels. However, in the end, it was decided not to proceed with the contract. “I had doubts about how to do long-term local activities within their system with the support of big labels, promotions and marketing,” he said. Instead, BTS chose to keep in contact with the fandom and grow together with the fandom as they did in Korea.”

Jazmine Sullivan probably will send Pick up Your Feelings for the song categories. H.E.R. collab will split H.E.R. voters and that benefits other contenders.

Like how those collaborations split last year for H.E.R.?

H.E.R. and Jazmine are on the same label. I’m pretty sure their label will submit properly because they want both recognized.

Honey, no! SZA is NOT really a contender for the R&B categories. “Good Days” is completely forgotten.

“Kiss Me More” has a better shot for a nomination tbh.

nahh they just became sellouts too

That would have been when Coldplay worked on a song with The Chainsmokers, if not earlier.
