How am I just saying anything? “My Hair” is definitely an R&B song. If Emily King, Teena Marie, and Taylor Dayne can get nominated in that category, Ariana is definitely plausible.

my post wasn’t about you lol.

Plus… would you put SAULT in the Dance categories or the R&B ones?

They’re R&B and Dance? How weird!

Get real!  “My Hair” is definitely NOT a R&B song (BARF! 🤢) nor is Ariana Grande plausible in any R&B category.  Stop being delusional!

Now…I like Ariana Grande. But she is not comparable to Teena Marie AT ALL. Teena lived & breathed Soul & Funk. Which is why Black audiences resonated with her. Ariana has a couple cute R&B flavored tracks & I’ll leave it at that…

Can’t find the country thread so I’ll just do country predictions here:

    Best Country Album

    1. Starting Over-Chris Stapleton
    2. Skelton-Brothers Osborne
    3. Remember Her Name-Mickey Guyton
    4. Heart & Soul-Eric Church
    5. Country Again (Side A)-Thomas Rhett

    Best Country Solo Performance

    1. Starting Over-Chris Stapleton
    2. Forever After All-Luke Combs
    3. Minimum Wage-Blake Shelton
    4. The Good Ones-Gabby Barrett
    5. Hell Of A View-Eric Church

    Best Country Duo/Group

    1. Run To Me-Barry Gibb ft. Brandi Carlile
    2. Glad You Exist-Dan + Shay
    3. Drunk and I Don’t Wanna Go Home-Elle King & Miranda Lambert
    4. I’m Not For Everyone-Brothers Osborne
    5. One Too Many-Keith Urban & P!nk

    Best Country Song

    1. Starting Over-Chris Stapleton
    2. Forever After All-Luke Combs
    3. Glad You Exist-Dan + Shay
    4. Drunk and I Don’t Wanna Go Home-Elle King & Miranda Lambert
    5. The Good Ones-Gabby Barrett

I am going to continue predicting a Morgan shutout until I see his name on nomination day, IDC.
I think Dan + Shay are getting their first pop duo loss. Rooting for Miranda & Elle because I love their song but Barry and Brandi will probably be the ones who win.
Chris Stapleton has a really easy path to 3 grammys.
I think Mickey is going to show up in the song categories. Just waiting for her to officially drop them

The sooner you guys come to terms that ethnicity and genre are not comparable the better. My Hair is indeed a R&B song. Is it likely that she’ll get nominated? No. Will it even be submitted? Unlikely.

That’s all that that needs to be said no need to take it out on Ariana and compare her to Teena Marie. They are two different artists respectively.

I – and probably most people – think of Ariana as a pop artist whose work is heavily informed by R&B, not an R&B artist. And that has nothing to do with race. Khalid’s in the same boat.

How do we feel about Ariana potentially scoring a R&B Performance nod for “My Hair”? I’d love for it to happen.

I doubt she’d get a nomination but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to submit that song (they won’t)

Don’t diss Teena Marie. She accepted by the R&B community and she’s an R&B legend.

How and where did I diss Teena Marie?

Who am I? You'll find out soon. Ciao, for now!

I’m my opinion, i think Good 4 U should go for record of the year. It’d be a 10 week #1 without BTS manipulation, and it’s a better fit than drivers license

    Her submissions should be:

    AOY, BPVA – Sour
    Record- Good 4 U
Song, Best Pop Solo- Drivers License
    MV- Good 4 U

And if SOMEHOW the committee lets it into rock

Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance- Brutal 🤣

‘Happier Than Ever’ just broke the Apple Music record for the most pre-added album of all time on that platform!

Has a song like Good 4 U ever won any awards in the general field in history? DL is still the safest choice to send in SOTY and ROTY, Good 4 U will look good on Pop Solo

Billie’s first 24 hours and first week will be great, the important thing is to know if she will keep good numbers when the hype passes
